  1. I just got an email from deb else from the custom shop this morning. They recieved my xd from the repair shop on 1-28-10 after the repair shop had it for seven days. Deb advised me that my combat trigger job and barrel refitting would be finished by the next week or so and my pistol sent out. She said it typically is a 6-8 week turn around time but that they are not to busy this week. Below is an excerpt of the email. Estimated turnaround time for this type of work is normally approx. 6 weeks from receipt of the pistol. It should be complete within the next week or so. 3. That middle one looks exactly like the one my buddy has his is the loaded. Its stainless and came with the rosewood grips. We took the grips off and installed crimson trace laser grips on it. It is bad ass for sure.
  4. Well at least you got to bag 4 yotes. Yippee I just love shootin em.
  5. That hummus deal sounds pretty good. The haggis deal not so much.
  6. Mailing, Lazyness pure lazyness. Jamie should fax them for all the trouble they have caused you.
  7. I know and have heard of pistols that were revolvers with very low trigger pulls in both doa and sa. How is this accomplished? I know a fella that has a s&W 357 that has a hair pin trigger on it. If you so much as breath wrong it goes bang. How is that accomplished?
  8. I was just wondering. Here is what I was thinking. I was going to buy a taurus 85 in march. I was going to have the internals deburred and the trigger face smoothed as well as chamfering done (chamfering only if needed), also I was going to install a 6.5 pound trigger return spring and leave the stock hammer spring. I was also going to have the hammer made into a rounded tear drop shape for easier less snagability. Predator custom shop there in knoxville quoted me 85.00 for the whole she bang. I may just do it. Like this here. I like the tear drop hammer. http://forum.pafoa.org/gunsmithing-44/49279-taurus-85-mod-ideas.html
  9. Detroit belt. Carhartt Detroit Belt for Men# Carhartt Jean belt Carhartt A89 - Carhartt Jean Belt at Dungarees Carhart Store I need a 46" belt that is at least 1 and 3/4 inches think on a budget.
  10. Damned right. The ones the cows dont stomp I shoot when out at the farm. Most of the time I cant shoot em though cuz the cows have done run em all over the place trying to kill em and they hit the barbed wire fence and are gone. Hell hath no fury like a 1500 pound mama cow and a 2200 pound bull chasing after a coyote. Often times the yote cant run fast enough and the cow gets in a few good kicks before its said and done.
  11. Indeed it is I have a neighbor who is a game warden and I asked him about this when my dad and I bought the farm in dayton. He told us if it is injured go ahead and put it down. If anyone asks questions refer them to me and I will tell them I told you to do it.
  12. humus? Isnt that pig intestine?
  13. Havent seen it listed so I will list it School Name: Austin's TN Firearms School Location: Oak Ridge, TN Primary Instructor: Mike Crow (aka Phantom6) HCP Class Cost: 110.00 for NRA Basic Pistol Practicum and HCP Class. Website: http://firearmsclasses.com/ Phone number: 865-483-1108 Your Personal Experience: I took this course through Mike back in August of 09. He is a very knowledgeable instructor, has a good sense of humor and is good people all around. He was patient and understanding with newbies in the class room as well as on the range. I would recommend this class to anyone in the immediate area. It is well worth the money.
  14. The carrabas in knoxville and johnson city are kick butt. I also liked johnny carinos. I dont know if yall have one of those down there but it is a good place to.
  15. LOL, Nashville Stockyards Restaurant. Good food, even have escargot if you like snail.
  16. Dont know if interested but I moved my stuff from oak ridge back to dayton in our 20 foot cattle trailer. If you can find someone that has a "clean" cattle trailer that might work for ya.
  17. Right, I wanted to be sure that if it was an atypical problem that it was nipped in the butt before it caused something major to happen. Heck it cost nothing to send it in and have them look at it. I cant use it right now anyways.
  18. 145 for the combat job and overtravel adjustment. This is cheaper than springer precision that wanted 150 and I would have had to pay shipping both ways.
  19. Hamilton place, and northgate are both no carry zones.
  20. Aint none seein as how brainerd be nur the projects and all.
  21. SA shouldnt take 6 months to get it back normal turn around time is 2-3 weeks on most things. You must be thinking about taurus. They can get that combat trigger job done for ya for 145.00 at sa custom shop. Check this out. Springfield Armory Click on 1911 A-1 custom worksheet. They can do all kinds of junk to it. To bad it aint a loaded for 765 dollars you could turn it into a trp with the trp badging and everything.
  22. I was just wondering cuz I have heard on some guns you can get hair pin triggers (not good for defense in my opinion) to really light say 5-7 pound pulls with overtravel stop in em.
