i snagged a PF9 a while back on a too good to pass up deal. I liked it alot and would recomend it. For the size i thought it has pretty darn accurate. I really had no need for it other than to fill a gap between a g27 and P3AT so i traded it to a 17 hmr rifle.

i say 40. you already have 2 9s. spice it up a little. besides it's fun to throw a bigger rock sometimes. I'm actually eyeing a xd or xdm 45 as my next hand gun purchase

i THINK your existing set up is capable of better make sure rings are tightend correctly and try using a better support method. my favorite budget rest is a 40-50 lb dog food bag; sturdy, moldable, and my dogs get to eat when i'm done. the 168 gr hornady match loads usually will pull 1" groups out of most 308s. here's a pic with the dog food bag. have friend shoot it also to see what happens.

this my do all mossberg 835 used $250 (pretty sure it's the $320ish wal mart model). sold factory stock -$30. added ati tactical stock $65. i also got a slug barrel for it. gotta piece together 2 drop spacers to get the cheek weld right. i have since put limb saver slip on recoil pad on it. the slug barrel with scope is just fun to play with. if i did it again i would have got a remington 870 super mag.

it should still work. you'll have an ugly gap around the barrel but it should shoot great. there are guys over on snipers hide that run sporter barrel rifles set up like this.

it's the wifes B-DAY. i'm cookin up some ribs later and sprayin some herbacide on a fence row while there going.

ahh. i'm looking at doing something similair to a marlin 17 hmr. i put flush cups in a fiber glass stock but like you i think there is a beter way on a synthetic.
-
hmmm i like your idea. what did you do for the other end?

I have the A3 light tactical on a remmy 700 308. i really like it. You will be very happy with it.

google what ever you want a stencil of, click images at the top of google page. find the one you like copy past it to word so you can adjust it to the size you want. print the stencil cut it out to make it pop a little you can do a base of black then move the stencil just a hair. then spray the color you want. moving just a bit will leave a black line on one side of the design creating a shadow.

so far the Hornady 168gr amax is the best i've tried. i've also played with various 150gr soft points; federal, remington, and winchester, cause everywhere around me has them but they didn't group anywhere near the hornady amax. i shot 7 rushed shots yesterday and got 2 1.25" groups at 100 yds w/ amax, a 4 shot and 3 shot group. i need everybody to leave me alone one afternoon so i can go play.

got one of those on my want list

been wanting to put together a paper-punch n hunt 308 for a while. when i found that i wasn't gonna have to pay in on taxes i sold my old cheap rem 770 243 and let it fly. It started with a good ebay deal on the scope then... remington 700 sps varmint 308 EGW HD 20 MOA rail Burris tactical rings (low) Bell & Carlson A3 light tactical stock Grove Tec flush cup swivel mounts Tab sling old pivot bipod i've had USO rail mount anti cant The scope is a Nikon Monarch 4-16x42 mil dot w/sunshade last is a little rattle can work and TA DA. I shot it with the factory stock a few times and got a couple 1" groups shooting off a dog food bag. hopefully sunday i'll get to go re zero and see what happens. BEFORE AFTER the uso anti cant won't fold in with the cover on it. Dang it. i'll just leave the cover off. of course i have more i want to do to it thanks to you bunch of... never mind. if had never found this site and others i would consider this thing done. once i get it zeroed again i've got to stretch it out and try some 500yd plus shots. i've never shot past 500. i'm getting gitty thinkin about it.

that's a hard choice. i like Old Forrester bourbon but i think for the eternity bar it would have to be Sierra Neveda pale ale
-
highly recomend it for groud hog and smaller. i trade around a lot but my marlin 917s is a keeper. the trigger sucks even after workin on it. this is my favorite 100 yd plinker and varmint gun i've had. i'm puttin a rifle basics trigger on my want list it's had little done to it. mainly shortened the barrel to 18.75"
-
 thats a good one.
-
i like tinkering so a bad trigger out of the box is far from a deal killer. thanks for all the input.

Now thats a positive comment. I'm bad about getting something and even if i like it, i probably won't get another one just because i've already had one. I have to really like something a lot to want another one. So far the only gun i've regretted getting rid of and is on my want another list is an air wieght 38 special.

since i've been asking around a lot of people seem to be savage fans to. any thoughts on them?

i have a cheap remington 770 243 youth and have got the bug to step up to a nicer rifle. i like playing long range and use it for yotes to deer. the old 770 is an accurate sub moa gun; got the youth model cause i pack through the woods a lot. other than the sloppy bolt and plastic parts i really have no complaints about it. i have the 770 sold to a buddy for his son whenever i find what i want. now my delima. the heavy barrel models really strike my fancy but like i mentioned earlier i carry it a lot so weight is an issue. i'm thinking about a remington 700 varmit for the heavy barrel and having it cut down from the 26" barrel to 22ish or just getting the little model 7 which will probably be better for my use. although it sounds like i'm stuck on remington i'm open to any suggestions. trying to stay under a grand for gun and glass. please throw them at me.

thats awesome. nylon remmy was the first real gun i shot. it's my dads and he still has it.

i like the wood grips. if you carry iwb the rubbery grips will do a number on ur love handles. That's the main reason i swapped my old 38 to wood.
