  1. Hard to beat a Dillon. I have a 550 that I load .44mag/spl on and really like it.
  2. Check out this compliance worksheet I found online. http://thegunwiki.com/Gunwiki/BuildAkVerifyCompliance
  3. Dave, thanks. Thats the site I sent him to and got the picture off of. I bet there is a local shop around here somewhere that has a box of those and doesn't know what they are.
  4. Thanks for the offer Fenris. He doesn't have a set of calipers so the measurement wouldn't help him. And he is in Crossville, so can't just zip up there. If I can't come up with one, he'll just have to order one. Thanks, Mike
  5. My brother traded for a M44 today. This evening he took the bolt apart and now can't get it back together and back in the rifle. I sent him a link to the complete bolt disassembly and reassembly. So here is the question. Do you have to have the "tool" that measures the firing pin protrusion to be safe, or can you just make sure the fp is flush on the rear knob? Where can I get him a MN tool? Thanks, Mike
  6. My AK was doing that with brass case ammo that I planned to reload. I glued a small piece of leather to the rear edge of the ejection port and got no more dents. As far as reloading it, I couldn't say.
  7. My brother just traded for a Ruger Standard model pistol. 4 inch tapered barrel and fixed rear sight. He wants to put a red dot on it but it is not drilled and tapped for a mount. Has anyone here ever used the no drill type mounts on a Ruger? If so, how did it work for you. Got one for sale? Thanks, Mike
  8. Nice looking project. I like how it hangs from the top of the door liner. So you will be starting production of these when???
  9. Verne, Nice 1911, but show us how you built your light box.
  10. Well at $.30 a round, about $78.00 for the ammo and about $15 a piece on the mags. That is unless the Colt mags are rare and collectible.
  11. He should have them bound and donated to the local library. I take all my old ones to the doctor and dentist office and leave them among the Newsweek and Time magazines(from two years ago).
  12. I have used a Craftsman type roll around tool box for years to store my ammo. It has a large bottom compartment for powder and larger stuff and the drawers help me organize the ammo.
  13. Sounds like a Swedish Mauser 6.5x55 cal. Check this link and see if it matches yours: http://www.chuckhawks.com/swedish_mauser.htm There are three Swedish words in this sector of the disc. "Torped" indicates the 140 grain BT spitzer bullet (there was an earlier 156 grain RN bullet), "Overslag" means over, followed by a space and then "Str."
  14. My brother did the Tapco stock for his son and he loves it. It has enough rails on it to mount a lot of Tacticool stuff. You should find one for a lot less than $100.
  15. Ever thought of rigging a webcam in the eave so you could monitor your traps? You could stream it live on the internet.
  16. Maybe a good clean and lube would help. May have not been cleaned in years. Congrats on finding a really great rifle.
  17. Hello and welcome from the 'Boro.
  18. Not Owl Hollow! But we don't want to go into that again, do we?
  19. Congrats to you. There is definitely a need in Middle Tennessee for a gunsmith. You should do well.
  20. Or you could have been murdered. Best to leave chasing cars to the police.
  21. I'd like to set up a table near the entrance to the parking lot and get first dibs on the good stuff.
  22. I cast .429 for my .44Mag, and .457 for my 45/70. I use Lee molds and pot. They work well. I don't do it often, but when I do cast, I cast a lot at one time so I don't have to set up as often.
