  1. I sold my Apache Black and Chrome one last fall for $300. I think I had $75 in it. Good return on my money. Hadn't shot it in years, so don't miss it.
  2. Chris started this thread last November and never posted again. We must have scared him off.
  3. Is it true that they are charging for parking now at the fairgrounds?????
  4. One vendor in Smyrna had Winchester Large Pistol primers for $56 a thousand!!!!! Nobody seemed to be buying at that price.
  5. There are probably a lot of us on here that could demo it for you. Getting it put back together is a whole another thing. Good luck on your remodel. Mike

    44 Special

I shot SASS competition with the .44 mag Ruger Vaqueros and a Marlin in .44 also. Used the .44 specials almost exclusively. With the 210gr, RNFP bullet at about 800 fps, it was a fun load.
  7. I bought a Marlin 336 and have found it to be a really fun gun to reload for. I shoot cast bullets in it and it only costs a few cents per shot. Hard to beat a 30-30. Just found this comment on the Mossy, Reports from Mossberg 464 owners have not been good, broken extractors, barrel band screws and feeding issues seem to be the major gripes. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=5240471
  8. Welcome from the 'Boro. I'm ex K-9 also.
  9. I've got the Ceiner kit also. Works great! Fun shooter that always attracts attention at the range.
  10. Wartrace is the closest to Murfreesboro that I know of. The head man is Preston Sweeney. Used to be in real estate in the Boro I think. You might get more info off their blog: Wartrace Cowboys: August 2008 Wartrace Regulators 745 S. Church Street, Suite 301 Murfreesboro, TN 37130 contact: Preston "Charlie Boudre" Sweeney (615) 896-8450 email: pswee77886@aol.com monthly shoot: 1st Saturday territorial governor: Charlie Bowdre (615) 896-8450 cowboy western action - SASS affiliated Have fun! Mike
  11. I used to shoot SASS events about 10 years ago. Really a lot of fun when it first started, but then it got to be like IPSC. Everybody was trying to find ways to shave off another tenth of a second off their time. Super tuned guns, speed rigs. It just got to be no fun for me after that. People were even cheating to win. That's not the "Cowboy Way".
  12. I called every Walmart in the mid state area last Friday. Only found 2 bricks of Federal at the one in Carthage. Drove all the way there for them. .22's are almost impossible to find.
  13. It's not a matter of having or not having. It's how the haves acquired it. I don't begrudge anyone beating me to the store to by ammo, unless they have an unfair advantage.
  14. No, but that still wouldn't make it right, now would it?
  15. I've been trying to buy some .22 ammo for the last couple of weeks at WalMart. It seems every time I call, they are out. Started calling all the WM in the area to check with them too. What I found out, really ticks me off and should you too. It seems that these sporting goods managers are calling a few of their friends the minute a new shipment arrives. Within an hour, they are sold out again when their buddies come down and buy it all. To me that is not right. They should stock the shelves, and sell it, first come, first served. For them to tip off their friends, doesn't seem right to me. Am I wrong????
  16. You can tumble in crushed walnut hulls. Buy them at a pet store as lizard litter. Or try the local Co-op for ground up corn cob.
  17. I visited Caleb this weekend and delivered the donated items to him. He again wants me to thank each and every one who has helped him. While there, I helped him set up his MEC 600Jr shotshell loader. He had sold enough eggs and a couple of roosters to get the money to buy this loader. That should keep him in shotshells for a while. I just need to find him some shot, primers and wads. Here is a pic of Caleb with the new 30-30 mold and handles. Thanks to everyone!!! Mike
  18. Congratulations to you and your son! My son is an Eagle Scout too.
  19. Saw a US Postal worker yesterday at the Murfreesboro Post Office wearing a Nighthawk hat.
