  1. I set my tumbler on a neoprene mouse pad to cut down on noise and walking. I usually don't tumble first. I size/deprime, then use the tumbler to get rid of the case lube and polish. The used dryer sheets are just torn into thirds and tossed in. By the end of a 2-3 hour tumble, they are about black and the cases are pretty shiny. If I want a factory shine, just leave them in longer(4 hours+). For polish, I use the Once A Year Polish in the orange bottle from WalMart. Be sure to keep the lid on the tumbler to keep down the dust. Hope this helps. Mike

  13. Well here is my centerfire entry for August. Shot today at the TGO shoot at Owl Holler. Gun is a stock Glock 19 with Big Dot sights. 10 yards, Weaver stance. Missed you today, JHatmaker. Mike
  14. What range is renting the Sig X5? I might want to try that one out.
  15. You need a yard sale toaster oven to bake those parts in. That should keep the better half happy.
  16. Small pistol primers are too small for the large primer pocket in the .45.
  17. Sounds to me like my use of the red dot sight is causing controversy in what should be a fun competition. If the administrator of the shoot wants me too, I'll withdraw my entry. How's that Mike.357?
  18. Rick, PM sent. Mike
  19. Sidewinder and I will be there Saturday too.
  20. I'd say any of the 3x9's would work well. Wally World has them for $40-50. Tasco or BSA would be a decent cheap scope.
  21. I would contact Federal. They will probably replace them at no charge to you.
  22. Not Turtle Wax. The hot setup seems to be the Once a Year Polish in the orange bottle. NU Finish or something like that. Get it at Wally World.
  23. Won't this thread just eat up expensive TGO bandwith for no good reason?????
  24. For really grungy range brass, use this easy to make liquid cleaner. I found this on CastBoolits.com Here is a recipe for cleaning grungy brass, 1 quart of water 1 cup white vinegar 1/2 cup lemon juice 1/4 cup liquid laundry or dishwashing detergent I use a net bag to place brass in and dip it into cleaner and let soak for 20 to 30 minutes, aggitating every 5 minutes or so. Rinse with water and towl dry, I usually tumble for 2 to 4 hours after.
  25. Brasso is a definate no-no in brass tumbling. The ammonia in Brasso will weaken the brass and it could fail. Just stick to car polish and dryer sheets and you will be fine.
