I've had good luck with the Romanian SAR-1's. Not so much with the WASR's.
  2. Did you see this sticky? http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/hunting/16019-taxidermy-how.html
  3. I know how to turn my sound off. I want to know how to turn his off.
  4. It's a bad link listed. Try huntx3.com and you'll get it. http://huntx3.com/
  5. Josh, I just finished flipping through a few pages of your new magazine. It looks really nice. I hope you can keep the content fresh and not become a slave to your advertisers. Is there anyway to turn off the page turning sound. It's kinda annoying. Thanks, Mike
  6. I visited my friend Gary today. He was so thrilled and happy about being chosen for a Kroger gift card. He wanted me to thank all of you who contributed to this project. He said that this will certainly help him make it through the Christmas holiday. Best wishes and Merry Christmas from Gary!
  7. Be sure to post pictures of the construction process.
  8. There are no untapped sources of lead anymore. Just keep checking with the tire stores. Keep a $20 in your pocket and ready to bribe an hourly worker for a couple of buckets of wheelweights. Most places claim they sell them back to a recycler. There used to be a member on here that worked at a tire store, but he wouldn't share his with anyone else. Good luck finding some.
  9. I used to make jerky out of a cheap roast. Had the butcher slice it thin and dried it in a food dehydrator. Came out pretty good. Never used GB though.
  10. His house, his rules. But he might only get a lump of coal from me this year.
  11. Spent the last 3 days in the woods near Crossville. Only saw one doe. Wish I had a closer place to hunt locally.
  12. I have a Garand that was changed to 7.62 NATO and it works great. I don't know what parts were changed or modified, but mine looks completely stock, inside and out. I had heard that a "block" was needed to take up the extra room in front of the shorter 7.62's, but mine doesn't have it or need it. DaveTN, I had access to a lot of 7.62 and 30-06 was really expensive at the time mine was converted, so that's why mine got converted.

    Thank You

Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for your service.
  14. I have the same Tracker and had the same trouble finding a holster for it. I finally had a custom "pancake" style made for it. It has multiple belt slots and can be worn straight up, tilted forward or crossdraw. I'll try and get a pic up in a few minutes. Edit. Here is the holster. When he made it, it had 3 slots for your belt. I "modified" the front slot to the D shape you see here. Made it more comfortable to wear for me. He can make it just about any way you want. If you like, I can put you in touch with him.
  15. Congratulations to your Dad on a great hunt. He did a great job on the blind too. What is the main support that you are sitting on? Not PVC also is it?
  16. You should give this little item a try. I'm in the same boat, can't see my rear sight, or my front sight. This has let me go back to shooting iron sights again. Lyman Products Your Primary Source for Reloading Equipment
  17. Not a terrorist attack, the server just snapped. It was a horrible tragedy.
  18. I used to bow hunt a lot. Tree stand and ground hunting. Now 20 years later I don't want to be climbing any trees. I'd either stay on the ground or use a ladder stand. I only gun hunt now.
  19. So do you just drive up to a WMA and walk in? I've never tried to hunt public land and the TWRA site is confusing to me. I'm trying to get back into hunting after not hunting for about 20 years. It's gotten tougher to find a place to go. I don't seem to know anyone willing to let me hunt or take me along.
  20. Kinda off topic, but never realized that you could hunt, or even shoot a gun in Davidson County. Nice deer!
