  1. I bought my son one in 22LR right after he was born in 1981. He never really got into guns, so it is still in my safe waiting for my 3yo granddaughter to be old enough to inherit it. Good little shooter and safe too. You have to manually cock the hammer after loading with the lever.
  2. That's why I don't go to indoor ranges anymore!
  3. I use the Auto Disc for my .380's and they don't vary by much. Sure it leaks a little, but still reliable. Good luck with your Drum. Wanting to hear how it works out.
  4. I too use the .444 Marlin cases for my 410. Works well and the cases never seem to wear out. Just a little more labor involved. I don't roll crimp mine. I just glue an over shot wad(cut out of a foam, disposable plate) with Elmers glue.
  5. I don't know anyone that would do that for you. Too much liability in letting someone else shoot their reloads. Good luck.
  6. Welcome from the 'Boro!
  7. Thanks for all the replies guys! I'll pass this along.
  8. I was just asked by a relative this question.   Can he take the HCP class before he turns 21, and then on his 21st birthday, go down to the DMV and apply? The class is good for 6 months and he will turn 21 before the 6 months expire.   Does anybody know for sure? I can't find anything on the TN site. Thanks!
  9. I use AA5 in all my cast boolit loads in my 380 Bersa. Load data here:   http://www.accuratepowder.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/WesternLoadGuide1-2016_Web.pdf
  10. I know I'm late to this thread, but here goes. I have an AR9. I traded one of my 556 uppers for it. It is the most fun and used gun in my safe now. I reload 9's on my Dillon 550 and use a 124gr cast boolit that I cast myself. So it costs very little to keep it fed. It has been 100% reliable with my reloads. It is the Colt mag version using a mag block in a standard AR lower. Bolt does not lock back on last round, although the block is set up to. I have tried using a modified Uzi mag, but it has not been all that reliable.   I am going to get a Lula Loader for the Colt mags though.
  11. My experience with WC846 is that for my lot number, the starting loads for BLC2 are near max. That is fine for me as I started below the BLC2 start loads and worked up.   I would like to have a copy of Quikloads, but just can't justify the price.
  12. If you are ever near Jackson Hole WY in the winter, be sure to visit the Elk Sanctuary. You can see 5000 elk or more in one place. They come down from Yellowstone for the winter and get fed there. You can ride a horse drawn sleigh right into the herd. Worth the trip.
  13. I haven't looked for any 7-30 factory ammo in a while. The brass I have seems to be holding up well. And if you want cheap brass, just form it from 30-30 in your 7-30 dies. I'm shooting cast in mine mostly.
  14. Merry Christmas and thanks!
  15. I have 2 Contender frames and 1 Encore rifle in .308. My pistol barrels are: .223 7-30 Waters(my favorite) 44 Magnum and a .45Colt/.410 barrel with the internal choke.   Love shooting my Contenders. Am currently looking for a .22LR barrel and will probably trade off the 45/410 for one.
  16. Did anybody come to Murfreesboro today looking for a gun show? Heard from a friend that about 100 people were waiting outside the Expo Center here in the Boro this morning thinking it was here. LOL
  17. Love the TSC here in the 'Boro, but the last time in there the manager turned out to be a real problem.   Needed a spark plug for my sons weed eater. Took the old one in. No matching plug on the wall. The manager comes over and says"Let me see it". Then he starts holding it up to each of the plugs on the wall and "eyeballing" it. Pulls one down and said here ya go. When I asked him to look it up and see what the correct one was he told me that Champion doesn't supply them a cross reference book anymore and this is the way they do it. I took the new plug home and of course, it didn't fit! Took it back and complained to him and he refunded my money, but I still had to make two trips and still didn't have a new plug.
  18. 1082 different combinations. How long would that take to try them all?
  19. Get a Lee Factory Crimp Die and solve all your crimp problems.
  20. I want more reach than a sap gives you though.
  21. I took a half day class over at APPS with Buford Tune and was issued a card. Never had to show it yet.
  22. And finding a place that will allow you to "train".
  23. And you got 5 people to come to Smyrna. You can have a meet, eat and shoot at a range and I bet you will get a better turnout.
  24. Be sure to go through the Straw Market. If you eat at Senor Frogs you can watch the cruise ships dock. The little bus drivers are crazy. Ours had a bat on his dash for unruly passengers.
  25. Just goes to show you, a meet and greet should be held at a range so the third component, Shoot, can be utilized.
