  1. Mike, We got through right about noon and went down the street to the Dos Margarita for lunch. Sorry we missed you.
  2. Welcome from the 'Boro.
  3. My wife and I made a trip to Hendersonville to the LDS Cannery/ Bishop's Storehouse yesterday (Tuesday). To our surprise, there was no one else there (customers). In past visits, there have been anywhere from 15-25 other folks in there canning food. We showed up and had the whole place to ourselves. There was a already canned supply of food on the shelf for purchase, so we only ended up canning a few items to replace the food we took. The staff was very nice and helpful. They are all volunteers and really enjoy their work. They said that right now is the slow time for people to come to the cannery and to get the word out that they have lots of food available. They are only open on Tuesday's and Saturdays. Please call and make sure of that before traveling a long distance. They prefer you to make an appointment, but during these slow times they would have no problem getting you in. The Church started a new rule back in January that "non-members" have to come with a Church member. That should not be too hard to do. Their address is: 19 Industrial Park Drive Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075 (615) 822-5584 For those of you who worry about such things, there is no preaching their message to you at the cannery. Just nice folks who want to help you get your food storage going. I'll be glad to answer any questions about this. Here is a recent price list. http://www.providentliving.org/pfw/multimedia/files/pfw/pdf/123115_HSC_OrderForm_US_ENG_28_APR_2011_pdf.pdf
  4. I have never seen a top cover that was secure enough to put a scope on.
  5. I was never a dedicated hog hunter, but would have shot one if it came by my deer stand. Now we can't even do that. I hope these regulations can be amended.
  6. I was in the Murfreesboro WalMart lot a few weeks back and saw a man on a bicycle riding around. He stopped and watched a woman loading her car, then started her way. I was watching him from the side of my car. He spoke to the lady who told him to get away from her. He then took her empty shopping cart and came my way. He saw me and commented to me that people leave these carts all over the place. I just gave him a stare from behind my sunglasses. He got on his bike and rode off. I reported him to WM security, who said they had been trying to catch him for a while now. Every time he sees security, he jumps on his bike and out runs them. Be careful out there ladies!
  7. Welcome from Murfreesboro, Charles!
  8. Man, I sure hope the end of the world gets scheduled by Wednesday, so I can make it on Sunday. LOL
  9. That's got a lot of neat features, but at $180, I think I'll just keep my Wave.
  10. MacGyver, That's a nice offer. Thanks!
  11. I don't think that the price I pay for a gun should depend on my skill(or lack of it) at bargaining like an Arab trader. I guess to get the best price, you have to convince the seller that you really don't want it. But you would probably buy it if the price was $xxx, but I don't really need it or want it, etc, etc, etc. Why is buying a gun any different than buying a loaf of bread? Cars are a different matter. It's expected that you have to haggle with car salesmen. That's why I hate buying cars. Now my Dad loved the haggle. He traded cars every two years and looked forward to it. I buy a car only after the wheels fall off and hate having to deal with the salesmen!
  12. Welcome from the 'Boro.
  13. Welcome from the 'Boro, John!
  14. I have one of those new in the box, unfired that I bought back in about 1979. Are they worth anything now?
  15. All he needed to complete the look is a Tactical Battle Mug for his beer!
  16. Welcome to TGO Will!
  17. Welcome from the 'Boro, Brian.
  18. I think I saw that pattern one time. They used a netting to get the diamond effect.
  19. Thanks. I like the "Cliff Notes" version.
  20. Didn't football season just end? Surely it's not time for it again.
  21. I couldn't get through the opening credits to watch a 13 minute video. Did they like it?
  22. When I worked third's, I stayed up after I got off in the morning. Then I slept right up until time to go to work. It seemed more normal to me that way.
  23. I was told that if your group is that small, then you are shooting too slowly.
  24. Read the owners manual and see what Taurus says.
  25. $5.00 to park at the Fairgrounds? That's it for me, too!
