  1. With lead shot getting too high to reload, I was wondering if there was anyone here who has a shotmaker and make their own shot? I looked into buying one, but at over $400, it is out of my budget. So I have to find a cheaper source of shot, or quit shooting the shotgun.
  2. It's a show up and first come, first bunk type of system. The only time I counted on staying in the Team Room, it was packed already and we had to go find a motel on short notice.
  3. I have been using the Dillon Determinator for about 8 years now and it works good.
  4. I had 5 bricks of Remington Thunderbolt ammo from the late 90's that the lube dried and swelled up to the point that you could not chamber it. I tumbled it in #8 shotgun shot in my tumbler. The shot polished the bullets smooth enough to chamber and fire. I only did 500 of these and sent the rest back to Remington and they replaced them with new. So yes, you can tumble them clean.
  5. Try a Caldwell Rock BR. Very solid rest and not as expensive as anything Sinclair makes.
  6. Welcome from the 'Boro, Joe!
  7. You might be able to do it all with one shotgun. Tuesday night I saw a man with an 1100 Trap Model, engraved, with a gold duck inlaid in the receiver, turkey thumbhole stock in Mossy Oak camo, 11 round magazine tube, shooting a round of trap. If that was not a do it all 1100, I don't know what it is.
  8. The OK Corral has brass laying everywhere on the pistol range. Pick up all you want. You will probably be the only person there on a weekday. Don't shoot anything other than pistols on the pistol range. Great place to shoot!
  9. Good review. Now how about a review of the suspenders that you will need to keep all that weight up?
  10. That is just the range fee. Bring your own ammo.
  11. Welcome from the 'Boro!
  12. I keep reading that you may not be getting your deer back when you take to a processor! I personally don't want a deer that I don't know how long it's laid in the woods. I processed my own last year and hope to do the same this year. I don't have a grinder, so really don't get to use all the bits and pieces.
  13. Not stamped, just stuck a set of calipers in the bore and cylinder. It measured about 7.55. Wasn't really trying for accuracy, just close enough to identify. I doubt he will ever try to shoot it. He will probably just try to sell to a collector.
  14. Haven't seen that in a while. That's a good clip.
  15. Wow! Not cheap to reload either.
  16. Thanks guys! I think you are right about it being a Lefaucheux. Now, got any 7.5mm pinfire ammo lying around? LOL.
  17. A friend of mine just acquired an old pinfire revolver and is unsure of what it is. He thinks it may be a French LeMat. The bore size is approximately 7.5mm. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  19. In Mt Juliet(just east of Nashville on I-40) is the Reloaders Bench. Good folks and good selection.

  21. My nephew and his friend each got 3. Only one buck, the rest were does for the freezer.
  22. Another vote for the Savage. I have a model 12 Varmint and it's a tack driver.
  23. Get the training! There must be something you can cut back for a while to pay for it. Liquor? Beer? Smokes?
  24. I just started trap shooting two weeks ago. I've been going to shoot at the Cedar City Gun Club, located between Murfreesboro and Lebanon. Cedar City Gun Club - Home On Tuesday evenings, they have a "Fun Shoot". It is 50 targets and cost is $10. I shot my stock Remington 1100, 12ga. with 28" modified barrel. The only mod is a shell catcher to keep my hulls from flying out and scratching the $10,000 shotgun in the hands of the shooter to my right. I can say that I have never met a nicer bunch of shooters anywhere. I was made to feel welcome as a new shooter. Everyone went out of their way to make sure that I had a safe and enjoyable evening. I went back the next Tuesday night and shot again. I think I'm hooked! I met several folks that reload and was able to get some valuable info from them. So, are there any others here that like to trap shoot? And where do you shoot? Thanks.
  25. Welcome from Murfreesboro.
