I've read several accounts of Mosin folks using the fixed power NC Star pistol scopes on the Mosins. They say they are holding up to the recoil. I think they run about $50 or so.

Buy the Rock Chucker! You will never regret it. Even if you move on to a progressive later, the RC will still be there for those big rifle cases and small volume projects. Money well spent!

They say the MM wax is good to put in your boolit lube.

I can recommend the Becker "Necker". The price is right. It's made very strong, but light. I just gutted and skinned a deer with mine on Saturday and it touched up to razor sharpness with just a few pulls on the crock sticks. Amazon.com: Ka-Bar BK11 Becker Necker Neck Knife: Sports & Outdoors

Maybe you could lube the locking lugs up with some heavy grease and slow it down some.

I'd use the Chinese and find another way to get the 6 compliance parts. That seems awfully high for a stock set though!

Got this one this morning. 90 yards, Marlin 1895ss in .45-70 with my handloads. A Lee 340gr boolit ahead of 25.5gr of 5744 powder. It dropped in it's tracks. It's good to have some fresh meat in the freezer!

Batting .000 so far. Got one shot at a doe, but missed due to a scope problem.

The Shootist is my favorite.

Justified starts back up in Jan on Tues nites.

I had to switch to TGO Light to read it.

Don, I was there all afternoon yesterday shooting my Mosin and my Yugo Mauser. Also my Contender .44 Mag at the 200 yard targets.

And caught on a fly rod to boot! Good going!!
