  1. I had a friend that was handy with a welder, make this for mine. Might not stop a 30-06, but will keep all the pistol rounds from ventilating it. http://
  2. Be sure to not set your chrony too close to the muzzle. I think my manual states 15 ft. Any closer and the sun screens get blown off.
  3. Don't know about needing hotter ammo. My AR9 shoots my 124gr RNL reloads at 1000fps with no problems. I think my 32 round mags are Centerline or something like that.
  4. Maybe check with the folks over at TNW Firearms in Oregon. They are making the Aero Survival Rifle in 9, 40 and 45. I think it uses the same buffer for all three calibers. http://www.tnwfirearms.com/
  5. My son had a well. His was a non-submersible with a pressure tank. His equipment was in a wooden building with a space heater pointed at the unit and his still froze last winter here in Mufreesboro. The water filter even froze and burst. Had they stayed, I recommended that he build an insulated box around all the pump, filter and pressure tank. Shouldn't take much to heat it then. If you ever get your pump out, I'd suggest replacing the galvanized with plastic. Good luck.
  6. You are selling your knives way too cheap! Beautiful work!
  7. I heard that Ben had gotten sick and moved back to Iowa. Better call first.
  8. Ok, turns out to be an add on called Interclue. It allows you to touch a link on a page and see what it is before you open it up. When this add on is active, I get the message above. When I deactivate it, TGO returns to normal. I used to use a similar add on called Cool Previews. It worked great, but since the developer stopped supporting it, Firefox quit accepting it as a valid add on. Just FYI in case it happens to someone else.
  9. While reloading Firefox, I accidentally erased all my add on's. Now the like button works. One of those add on's must have been iterfering with the forum. If I find out which one, I'll post it here.
  10. Every time I try to "Like" a post, I get a pop up with the message above. Didn't do this till a couple of days ago. Any ideas?
  11. Found some locally and bought enough to last me for a long time. Thanks for the replies!
  12. Have a friend that has one. Good shooter. There are some You Tube videos on stripping them. Be careful with the grips! They will break easily on removal and are expensive if you can find replacements.
  13. I know you were talking to Sidewinder, but you are near my family. They are at exit 311 Plateau Rd. Maybe I can get Sidewinder to come up there one day.
  14. xtriggerman, I have shot this particular Savage. It shoots good, but has a really hard trigger. I sat there one day and cycled one mag through it as fast as I could operate the bolt without a problem. But it turns out that the mag was resting on my let and putting pressure on it, holding it in perfect position. When I held it up with nothing touching the mag, it won't feed. He bought a new mag, but it does the same thing. Thanks for your help on this! Oh, and it seems to function better with polymer tipped V-Max. The problem is mainly with Sierra RNL.
  15. My brother just traded for an AR and when he got it home, he noticed that it was marked 223 Wylde. He shoots mostly steel case ammo(Wolf, Silver Bear) in his other AR with no problems. Now he is worried that he won't be able to shoot cheap ammo in this one. I've read that some Wylde chambers are bad about having stuck steel cases. Does anybody here have one and successfully shoot steel case in it? Thanks
  16. Thanks for this wonderful prize!
  17. Merry Christmas in July! Thanks!!!
  18. Best show I've been to in a long while. The new location is so much better than the old Park ave building. Well lit, a little warm, but seemed to be a nice place. Lots of reloading stuff(thanks David!). Not too much non gun stuff.
  19. Sounds like an expensive fix to a very slight problem. I'd polish the expander with some metal polish to slick it up and be done. I've also heard of using a bit of case lube on the expander, especially since you are not dropping powder through it. I hope you get it to work like you want it to.
  20. Sounds like your press is not bolted securely to a heavy enough bench. I use the Lee dies and don't get the bump. Maybe you just need to polish the expander just a little.
  21. Lee says to make the top of the rod flush with the nut on top.
  22. I just got a Contender barrel in 22 Hornet. I've been loading what jacketed bullets that I have around here and I think it will be a hoot to shoot. So far loading 2400 powder as I had over a pound of it sitting around. I know the hot powder now is Lil Gun, but we used 2400 for the last 50 years in the Hornet, so that's what I'll do. Wondering if any of you cast for any of the 22's. I'd like to try a few .224-.225 boolits in the 45gr range, but don't want to buy 500 just to see if they work well in the Contender. Can anybody help me out? Thanks.
  23. Pour it a little at a time in a shallow pan and let it evaporate.
  24. Busted by Caster!!!! I'm so ashamed!
