  1. I have a Thunder and it has been 100% reliable with both factory ball ammo and lead reloads. Just be sure to clean and oil it good before you go shoot. Mine was a little gritty feeling when I got it, but after a good cleaning, it runs smoothly.
  2. I would consider it factual when you chronograph your rifle and show us that it hasn't lost any velocity by staying cocked for long periods of time.
  3. So how did the Meet and Greet and Eat go? How many showed up?
  4. Well, there you go Mikey. Two different opinions. Take your pick. I don't leave my Gamo Big Cat cocked for more than a few minutes and it still Chrono's like new. The research I did was from forums that guys were chronographing their rifles and seemed to be very serious about it. Best of luck with yours.
  5. Ok, after further research, it seems the hunters will leave theirs cocked for hours on end while in the woods. Just don't forget to uncock it. Guys that want to "detune" their rifle, or make it shoot slower, will cock it and leave it cocked for weeks until the spring weakens to the velocity they want. Hope this helps Mikey.
  6. Not very long. The spring will take a set, or so I am told.
  7. I'm not coming. I won't drive 30 miles to eat pancakes in a high crime area and "meet" people. We are a group of shooters. If you want to do this, do it right. Have a Meet and Shoot at a range. JMO YMMV
  8. I have one that I have had for over 30 years. Great knife, made in the USA!
  9. Sounds like maybe you are not flaring the case enough before seating the boolit. If it is shaving lead, that is the problem. 452's should load just fine. They do in mine. Your dies for the 45ACP should not be roll crimping, but should be taper crimping. Don't seat in the lube groove. Seat the boolit deeper and it should work better. I load Lee 190gr SWC's in my 45 and just barely have a shoulder of the boolit sticking out of the case. When I first started loading this boolit, I seated them too long and they would not chamber. Just a few thousandths can make all the difference.
  10. It needs to be at a range so we can shoot as well as meet. I doubt many here would drive 30 miles or more just to "meet". JMO
  11. This. My son and DIL tried to get copies of their wedding photos printed and no one would print them without a release from the photographer.
  12. I tried it on 45-70, but it was too frustrating to cut the patches. Shot good though!
  13. Most of us aren't "tacticool" enough to go into The Armory. I went in once and won't be back. If I'm in Lebanon and need something, I go to Lebanon Gun Shop.
  14. Send your wife over next time. Maybe two women would work it out together over coffee.
  15. Maybe you should have been more clear as to what you wanted in the first thread. It made no sense to me and seems most readers felt the same.
  16. I got this from the Dillon manual: The machine comes with two primer pickup tubes (#20060 large, #20059 small) and two primer magazine tubes (#22031 large, #22030 small). They are color coded for easier identification. See color coding information below. The large ones should be used together and the small ones should be used together. You will notice that the primer magazines and primer pick-up tubes have different colored tips. They have been color coded to help you identify size more easily. The color code is as follows: Blue Small Primer Magazine Orifice Red Large Primer Magazine Orifice Yellow Small Primer Pick-up Tube Green Large Primer Pick-up Tube And this on troubleshooting the primer system: Problem 3. Primer jams or misfeeds. A. Primer misfeeds can be caused by misadjustment of the set screw (#13961) in the primer feed block, Fig. 12. B. The most common cause of primer misfeeds or jams is the primer punch not seated fully into the primer slide. This will cause the primer seating cup to strike the flexible orifice on the bottom of the primer magazine tube. See the photograph on page 5 for adjustment tolerances. WARNING: If the primers are jammed and will not feed from the bottom of the primer magazine, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FORCE THE PRIMERS OR THE PRIMER SLIDE. Never force primers in any situation, an explosion resulting in injury can occur. C. Another common problem is that the primer slide fails to return fully forward with the new primer. Periodically wipe the primer slide with rubbing alcohol. This removes the spent primer residue that causes the slide to drag. Hope this helps.
  17. Any chance you have the wrong primer tube installed? Small primers in a large tube could get sideways on you. I've loaded thousands of rounds on my 550 and never had a single primer issue.
  18. Good video Paul! I carry either a 26 or 19 and so my spare mag is usually a 19 for both. Good to know it won't let me down.
