  1. Tennessee Dept of Safety is now the Dept of Safety and Homeland Security. They may have revoked the license of the school doing the permits.
  2. Try soaking it in Kroil for a day or so. I did that with a stuck shotgun choke and it came right out.
  3. I have 3 Beckers. All older ones. The rough finish is holding up well on all of them. I like the kydex sheaths that came with mine. They have lots of ways to lash other pouches to the outside. I have paracord wrapped around my Companion sheath.
  4. I wanted a 14 but couldn't find one, so got the 18. Had a model 1 for a while and an 18 with a 5.5" blade. Wish I could afford more.
  5. My WalMart here in Murfreesboro is the same. They tell me that 2 guys come in every morning and wait on the guns and ammo shipment and buy whatever comes in. Every day!
  6. I thought I would share a few pics of my Randall model 18. It is the 7.5" stainless blade model. I bought it about 30 years ago with the idea to use it in the airplane as a crash survival knife. It never made it too the plane. Went into the safe and rarely saw the light of day till recently when I got to thinking about it. I've always liked Randalls, but with a 4 year + waiting period on them, I haven't bought any lately. Here are some pics. Wish they were better quality.
  7. I only shoot what I can reload. If I can't reload it, or easily replace it, I don't shoot it.
  8. Don't unscrew the hopper! That just wears out the screw holes. I had to "fix" my hopper by JB Welding a screw in both holes. They go down through the metal base and use a nut to hold it on. To change discs, just unhook the spring and slide the disc out the front of the unit.
  9. Stuff like this is why I won't shop there. They really don't want your business!
  10. A friend of mine called the DOS and they said due to huge volume of applications, they are running way behind.
  11. I used to buy 10 rounders for $5-7 each a few years back. I use them to train with. Get more reloads per training session with them and let them get dropped in the mud instead of my full size mags.
  12. I never do BOS at a show(or anywhere else). I ask to see their HCP or DL and that's it.
  13. Like most bullpup designs, it doesn't seem to work with left hand shooters unless you reconfigure it. If I as a right hand shooter needed to shoot around a left hand barricade with it, I don't think I'd have time to "reconfigure" it.   No thanks!
  14. Midway has the Lone Wolf barrel in stock for $99 right now. I would think a factory barrel has very little value unless you just needed one.
  15. I hate it when people tell me "that's why they call it hunting". It's usually somebody who doesn't hunt or they have already shot theirs. And they always laugh when they say it!
  16. I only saw one deer this year and he was not in a position for a shot. I had dozens of them every night on my trail cam, just none in the daylight. Next year I'm starting in ML season. Maybe the head start will help. I only hunt for meat and the rest of the year will remind me that maybe I should have risked that shot.
  17. Just got back. Thought it was a pretty good show, given the size of it. I bought a bunch of primers and bullets from our own David Mosley. His booth was busy all day. Looked like he still had plenty of all sizes of primers but was running short on 223 bullets. The guys I went with sold their "no name" AR's for $1100 and those were the cheapest ones there. Saw a guy walking around with a sign trying to sell 5.56 ammo for $1 a round. Lots of mags. Metal mags were cheaper than the plastic mags.   I also bought 3 boolit molds and some dies from a lady who had a table. She said her husband died and left a whole basement full of this "junk". She was from Whitwell TN.   Saw my old M1A that I traded off at the M'boro show on the guy's table that I traded with. He had marked it up to $2700. I had traded with him for half that.   Except for the wait to get in, I thought it was pretty good.
  18. Was at Reloaders Bench in Mt Juliet yesterday and they had 556 brass for $0.14 a round.
  19. Good write up Mike. Looks like you got some good training that week! Glad you didn't actually need your kit!
