  1. So are there any Ruger parts left on it? Doesn't seem like it is a Ruger anymore.
  2. The new format should help with minimizing the bickering and drama. And eliminating the Nomination Range is a good move. Make it skill based. Worst shot goes to elimination.
  3. When the "tab" touches the rotor and makes noise.
  4. The bad thing about these Tula's is that I have reamed all the primer pockets and they should be the correct size. The primers are just .001 to big.
  5. I just went out and did some measurements. The diameter of the Tula that I measured was .1760", the WW was .1750" and the CCI was .1753". The CCI primers are also slightly harder to seat.   This was just one primer at random from each box, so the measurements could vary in the lot. But, I think I see why I'm having trouble seating them.   As to the height of the primers, the Tula is actually shorter than the others. Tula .1177", WW .1186" and CCI was .1187".
  6. I bought a box of Tula Small Pistol primers a while back when I couldn't get Winchesters. Been using Winchester for 30 years or more. Decided to try out the Tula's by loading some 9mm on my Dillon 550b. On the Dillon, you prime on the upstroke after you decap/resize. The WW primers go in really smooth. The Tula seem to be ever so slightly bigger and don't want to seat fully. I was leaving a high primer on most of the cases I primed.   Went to the Dillon manual and they said the shellplate might be too loose. Adjusted it as tight as possible and still rotate. They still don't want to seat all the way. I tried cleaning/reaming the primer pocket with the Lyman PP tool which takes off metal till the pocket is the "right size".  Tried another 25 Tula's in these cases. Still won't seat without a LOT of force. Tried using my Lee hand primer and they go in, but flatten out when seated all the way.   Could the Tula primers be "taller" than the WW? Or just slightly "fatter". I have not miked the two yet to compare. Just wondering if anybody else has had this trouble too.   I've taken the 900 I have left and put them into the "end of the world/last resort" ammo can. I just need to get back to using WW primers exclusively.
  7. Looks like a center hit to me!
  8. Sold my M1-A after 30 years of owning it. Great rifle, just stopped shooting it. I shot only GI Ball ammo in mine. Mostly de-linked M-60 ammo.
  9. I don't have any advise, but just wanted to say I'm glad you didn't give up on it. Just don't load too hot for those old top breaks. They aren't real strong.   Try the CastBoolits site for more info on the old 38.
  10. Looks like Kwik is selling them in Brentwood.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqHqWuAOuEg&feature=share&list=UUF8kc01qnMIlyVBmS_8v7zA
  11. My 9mm Glocks like the .358 diameter boolits that I cast. I use a Lee 356-124 RN and it works good in my Glocks. Also shoots acceptable in my 38 Spl.
  12. Fighting Pistol and Fighting Rifle for me.
  13. Those are really strong springs. Maybe look at garage door springs? Or write the manufacturer?
  14. I had an AR pistol. Like Steel said, huge fireball with factory loads. Wear plugs and muffs to shoot it!   I tried loading down, but never got a load that was comfortable to shoot, that would cycle the action. With full power Lake City ammo, it would shoot dime size groups at 25 yards off a bipod. It was fun for a while, but I traded it for a .223 pistol that I could hit something with. A Contender.
  15. I think he was just trying to show what the average person could do without a lot of fancy tools.
  16. The old shows there were great. Multiple buildings, great vendors. They were big, because they only had one or two a year. We'd wait and save all year to go.
  17. Have a small base set for my .308, but found that I really didn't need them in the M1A. The standard FL dies worked just fine.
  18. Welcome from the 'Boro!
  19. I just like an old standard A1 type birdcage. I don't like the extra noise and blast that most compensators put out.
  20. All I shoot in my 45's are either Lee 190 or 200 gr SWC's. I found the trick to seating depth is not worry as much about an OAL number, but to seat the boolit till only about 1/16" of the shoulder is out of the case. Keep seating deeper till it fits your chamber perfectly, then lock it down on the die. Mine feed and shoot great.
  21. I get emails about once a week from TFA. Maybe you opted out of the email service?
  22. I used to shoot the Speer .38 Special plastic loads in my apartment. Red plastic case and black plastic bullet. Primer only. Shoot into box of newspaper and then recover the bullet and do it again. I found out they will shoot through sheetrock though.   A friend used to take primed cases and press them through a sheet of wax and shoot those indoors too.
  23. Take an empty case and see how it fits.
