  1. I worry about snakes that I can't easily get away from in my kayak while fishing. I have a friend that has had them try to get into the boat with him. There is not enough room in a kayak for me and a snake!
  2. You are limited in caliber to what you can put on a Contender. With an Encore, almost anything goes. The rifle calibers you have mentioned, 30-06, 220Swift, 22-250, are not Contender calibers.   For deer sized game, the Contender can handle the 30-30 and 7-30 Waters, both are factory loadings and plenty of power for anything in the South.
  3. http://www.wbshootingteam.org/
  4. I contacted them through FB and was told they are going to shoot the "Steel Challenge" with pistols. Was told they have over 30 shooters and each one shoots 200 rounds per practice session. If they practice once a week(not really enough), then they are shooting 6000 rounds per week!   I think they picked the wrong time to get into shooting .22's with the current ammo shortage. They should stick to trap and skeet.
  5. I went to their FB page looking for pics of the team doing some 22 shooting. Found only pics of them shooting shotguns, sporting clays, and duck hunting. I'm all for helping kids to shoot, but I can't find anything on there documenting their "Shooting Team" status.   Here is their "Mission".   Mission To Teach kids of all ages how to be safe and have fun with Shotgun Sport.
  6. I'd check case length too. May need trimming.
  7. My 1/9 won't shoot anything over 62 grains. All others are keyholing.
  8. Be sure to flag it as "Overpriced". I just did.
  9. I've wanted one of those since the 60's. Please count me in. Thanks.
  10. You could still get a Third Class according to the FAA website.   "An applicant who uses insulin for the treatment of his or her diabetes may only be considered for an Authorization for a third-class airman medical certificate."
  11. I've always had good luck with NewEgg.
  12. Good advise here ^^^^^^^!
  13. I like the Lee manual. Lots of good info for the experienced reloader as well as the new loader. Get the volume 2. It is more up to date.
  14. I have the BD's on my 19 also. They really work well for fast shooting.
  15. Really enjoyed his performance in Charlie Wilson's War.
  16. Any chance his leg was in a leg hold trap? Since he didn't move from the spot.
  17. It was just on Fox17 news at 10. Scared the folks in the neighborhood. LPD says they are checking the legality of what he was doing.
  18. That was stupid!
  19. I just can't get used to this new look. I like the traditional wood M-14.
  20. I think I'd sell the GC and buy something you like. If you start milling and dovetailing, you will hurt the value. GC's are bringing a premium right now.
  21. Maybe the sight is straight and the slide is crooked.
  22. Well, seeing how the GC was supposed to be a target pistol, I suspect the options will be limited.
  23. Long slot that blends into the slide. The site comes off with a cross pin removed.
  24. I dropped my 70 Series Gold Cup about 20 years ago and bent the rear site. At that time, Millet made an exact fit replacement site. Looks just like the original. It has worked well for the last 20 years or so. Just don't drop it on the rear site.
