  1. Put a primed case in the chamber with the headstamp at 12 and 6. Fire the primer. Eject it and see what direction off center it is(12, 6, 3, 9 o'clock) That may help determine the problem.
  2. That looked like a campaign letter to me. Is he about due for re-election?
  3. I won't waste 21 minutes on him. Tell us when something good happens.
  4. Here is a good deer feeder cam. I think it's in Iowa.   http://thecrush.tv/deer-cam   You can use the "slider" at the bottom of the screen to back up in time.
  5. I don't think you are right about that. Those are big heavy plates that a 22 won't knock down. Here is a pic of the sign. It says "Pistol or Rimfire Only" and the one you can't read on the fence says the same and then "No Centerfire". This was put up when somebody took an AR and shot up the plates and ruined them. I think the sign(poorly worded), is trying to keep centerfire rifles off of it. You could call the OK Corral to confirm.
  6. The one on the far right. Past the Assault Rifle Pit. They have one set of plates on the left side of the range.
  7. Welcome from the 'Boro. Just remember, we don't care how you did it back in Michigan! It being anything.
  8. I loaded some .38spl shot loads yesterday to carry on the river when fishing. You can load them a lot cheaper than you can buy the .22's.
  9. http://www.handgunhunt.com/tech/t1/index.html   This may help.
  10. The Blue Book always seems to work for the dealer when he's buying your 90% Smith and Wesson, but when he turns around to sell it, it is an extremely rare model worth twice what the book says.
  11. Welcome from the 'Boro. Hey, isn't Bill Dance from Collierville?
  12. Almost sounds like the boolit is too small. Jacketed or cast?
  13. They seem to be nice folks, but I was turned off at the high delivery fees. I ended up buying elsewhere and getting free delivery to my door.
  14. If you happen to recruit some of the IPSC folks, I'm sure that they will figure out a way to shave tenths of a second off of each shot, so that you can get more shots in. Just look what they did to Cowboy Action Shooting.
  15. Shouldn't the extractor be holding the case back even if his case is not headspacing on the mouth?
  16. I have a few small primer 45's and haven't reloaded them. They always look to me like the case head is concave. Just wondering if that is keeping the primer just out of reach from the firing pin?
  17. Here is another link to some good Blue Dot 223 info. http://www.predatormastersforums.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1358967
  18. I have a Contender .223 Super 14 barrel and I have only shot factory loads a few times through it. It shoots a flame about 3 feet long and pushes my eyeballs back with the pressure. Not much fun for me. Good for clearing the range.   I started loading my .223's down a bit using Blue Dot powder and 45-52gr bullets. There is some good info online for BD and .223. There are some cautions though. You could easily double or triple charge a case as you are using very little BD. The result of using BD and lighter bullets is very little recoil, blast and noise. The accuracy is very good too. I think that BD is not to be used below about 40 degrees if I remember correctly.   Here is link to some of the best info. There used to be more online, but "Rocky's Reloading Room" website is now gone. http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-446724.html   Hope this helps.
  19. When I'm out in my kayak, I pick up trash on every trip. The bank fishermen seem to be the worst offenders. Mostly bait containers and food wrappers.
  20. Taking one apart and putting in a safety is one thing. Fitting it so it works properly, every time, it another. Let a pro fit it for you.
  21. I'd go to the Hodgon website and see what the recommended start load is. Or look in your loading manual.   I just went there. http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle   They show a 43.7 start load with a 150gr bullet, so the 40gr load sounds safe enough.
  22. I don't like the tree spiders either. When I have to retrieve a stuck lure in the bushes or low branches, they always attack. At least I think they are attacking.
