You won't have a reason to check your mail after you get it. I forget all of the time.

Shoot from the draw. -see how many shots you can get into the 9 ring in 3 seconds. have a buddy tap you on the back, draw and shoot. Start the 3 seconds timer on the tap. -alternate between speed and accuracy drills, a mixture of both is best Blind load a mag with a snap cap mixed in. -tap/rack/bang drill. Shoot while crouching. -a **** load harder than it sounds

DS/SA - with holster - no safety SAO - Always a safety - Why? because I'm human and I make mistakes, miscalculations and some poor decisions. I don't do it often, and never have I made them with a firearm, however, I like to introduce other helpful leg/life/dignity saving practices into my regiment. From IWB draw with safety I can get 3 shots into a kill zone and a 3 inch group in about 4 seconds. without the safety, same. Doesn't slow me down. Plus if for what ever reason, I lost control of my firearm to another individual out of my holster, they would have to work the safety on a foreign gun in order to use it against me. far fetched, but possible.

I am surprised a bit, but not totally. I am not very eloquent or well written (heck, I'm even a little dumb) so I will try to be as direct as possible. If a gun has so many issues (thousands of complaints). Come on, there is something wrong with the damn gun. Don't defend it, accept the fact. But cheese and crackers, if I adjust a trigger that is adjustable from the factory and it starts going off arbitrarily, then there is something wrong with the function of the rifle. It's very short sighted to assume that they were handling the gun poorly. Were you there? These are people's lives and you have whittled it down to a political issue. My mother in law was shot in the back from an accidental discharge. No fingers on the trigger. Does it have a politial spin? possibly. As far as political alignments are concerned, the new Tea Party fad-thing.... nothing of intelligence, substance or worth has come of it. Only media hype. Congratulations.

Ok, I have an IWB leather holster for my 1911. It doesn't have the full body side leather panel like the kholster or supertuck. It only comes up to the trigger, which I am fine with. I am not a big guy, but, when I sit my body can sometimes press laterally against the thumb safety or mag pushes on the rear of the seat (and there is like a 1mm play in the mag (in and out). I fear the this can negatively affect the proper function of the action and cause a mechanical failure when i need it. It's not uncomfortable, the holster is great, I can tuck my shirt in with it and even wear a short T-shirt. It also allows me to get a great pre-draw grip. Am I being nutters or overly cautious? I know that this gun is built to work under a lot of demanding conditions, but maybe not sitting under my side-fat.

Went to wally world, bought some ammo. I also picked up another copy of Road House, just for good measure. lucky for me, I can carry to work, but not inside. Took class on the 25th, submitted everything on the 27th. Got it in the mail today.

Bat senses kicked in and the hair on the back of my neck stood up. Whew!

Nah, that mostly means fight. That colloquialism is a verb phrase often inferred during the beginning or a deterrent to an altercation. As in "He don't wanna try me." I am fluent in Jive. -
Cheaper Ammo (Note: this is not a reloading post)
kesava replied to perstare's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Indeed with shipping, cant beat WWB from wally world or Bass pro. -
I have owned 4, never a problem. finding my way to 1000 rounds on the pt709.

I have a couple of 1911's (the American Classic hates fiocchi ammo btw) I have dropped $300 on ammo in the past month. That makes me sick. I need to either a) Get a 1911 .22 version/conversion (Chiappa or ATI).... 22 ammo is super cheap, but the recoil will not feel the same. Start reloading for a $150 investment and still shoot for .15¢/round, recoil will be the same, but I will need a place to reload *moving wifes crap into storage and out of my shed*, and it's more expensive than .22 My purpose is to get to a sub 2.5 second Mozambique drill, so shooting often will be required.

Great, now the pre-recalled rifles are really going to be really hard to find. Since it's not a BATFE recall, is it not mandatory?
-
When did you apply?

Im almost 700 rounds on my Taurus pt709. not a failure yet.

and I will raise you a restaurant. There is money to be made in any industry yet. no matter the market saturation. Size, location and marketing.

7 Rounds in an 8 round mag works perfectly.. WTH is up with that. I owe you a box of 9mm ammo Name the time and place!
-
Yes, that works ALMOST everytime.
-
Pfft, I saw some guy on youtube AND I read 1 thread on it. I'm practically an expert. Can I practice on yours first? Good point. All joking aside, that is some good advice. I would likely make matters worse.

Ok, so I have this American Classic 1911 commander. When I insert a mag, there is about 1/8th of an inch play (the same as my RIA commander). With Fiocchi JHP's, the first round nose dives if I don't hold the mag tight in the magwell in when I chamber a round with the slide release. All follow up shots cycle perfect, or operating the action by pulling back the slide. This happens with all 3 types of mags that I have tried (Factory, Wilson Combat and Chip McCormick. It only happens with 1 of the 3 types of ammo that I have, Fiocchi JHP, and not with Ball ammo or Golden Sabre's. So, do I a) take a dremel to the feed ramp (my favorite option) replace mag release c) Send back for warranty repair with 8 rounds of fiocchi ammo d) Don't use fiocchi ammo and pay the extra 6 bucks for Hornady xtp's e) Run 300 more rounds through it and hope it gets better.

Tagging this as well. I would like to know too.

Maybe I should take this moment to expound on my original post of this thread. Both the Talon and the Ranger-T have VERY similar qualities. They will both muck up your day in a very bad way. I dont give a rats ass how they are engineered. They do the same thing. Except one is half the price of the other for no good reason. They both have an awesome expansion coefficient, sharp pedals and penetration depth. Ergo for all intents and practical purposes, a very similar bullet. But, no, they are not the same bullet. There is a complete disparate comparison that you made. A focus vs a mustang.... where a stock focus has 150hp and the mustang is double. And given that the Ranger T is a better bullet it would be the mustang? correct? So, in with your analogy and my erroneous post, the Mustang, which has 305hp and a 0-60 time of 5 seconds and the focus would be 151hp and a 0- 60mph time of 8 seconds, but they both have tires. Really, the Talon is doubly out performed by the ranger-t? but they both have tires.... if you say so. They both produce a massive amount of wound damage, i think we can both agree on that. I have not been to their ballistic gel testing events, but I have spoken to their marketers, and well, I will not recant my "same bullet" statement as I am not versed in bullets enough to give the minute details in the engineering process. Don't be so abrasive. I'm happy that you have the knowledge that you do. really, I am. Now I can bug you with ??. Pardon my technicality, but to associate information that I have with a total discrediting analogy is impolite.
-
Your right, the Winchester representative at the shot show was full of it. And this expansion test... completely faked... Thanks for setting me straight . J/K the Ranger does have better ballistics, but I wouldn't think it's so different. FYI the next Focus SVT will leave the mustang in the DUST. almost 300hp and light as all get out. But that's me being a semanticist. I'm glad the Rangers are better than the Talons. It's a shame that peeps still hold on to the Talons like they do.

Is that to make a profit in the first year? if so, that's a little much. I figure at 500 members + $30 single visits for 20 Minutes on the urban combat ground for non members, you can bring in $250k/year, outside of ammo/gear sales. Over head will be very low. I figure it would take 5 years to pay for itself. But its not uncommon for businesses to have a 7-10 year profit plan.
-
My needs would be $125/year Big ammo selection, reasonably priced Shoot from draw Children 9 and older allowed Pop up urban combat zone (I could go on and on about this, but basically a house with reactive metal targets that pop up as you walk through and glow red when shot in head or torso. movebale walls for different scenarios and all that crap) Just to name a few.... How about you, what would like in a range here in nashville, or memphis or knoxville for that matter?

Sell it while you can, the new winchester rangers are basically the black talon minus the coating. Not everyone knows this yet, but word is making its way around. Black talons were never outlawed, just discontinued due to bad press and lies (propaganda and war machine stuff), now they are made anew in the rangers. Triple your money, use it for the equivalent rounds of ranger and pocket the profits.
