  1. Newsflash! Add Pomeranians to the killer list.  We had one bite a 67 year old lady today.   I grew up with Labs (and both were great dogs), but the three breeds I would own today are Weimaraners (obviously), Dobermans, and Great Danes. For some reason, I just love these breeds.
  2.   They're like a pack of Velociraptors. Not mean...but they'll sit and watch you, figure stuff out, egg each other on, and then gang up on you to get what they want. They're 14 now, so Daddy usually caves.   One likes to chew on the occasional ice cube.  Well, after watching me get ice from the fridge a time or two, she figured it out. That's fine, except for the 4 other cubes she leaves on the kitchen floor (the PrimaDonna only wants one).   BTW, you have a great looking Blue.
  3. These are my killers in their natural environment. I had to put the one on the left, Maggie, to sleep a couple of weeks ago. My father died last year and I didn't shed a tear. I can't say that about Maggie... My male, in the center, is a loveable dick. If you happen to be on "his" couch, you're getting laid on. The girls, and me, just accept it. You can tell how thrilled Maggie is about it, though. BTW, you can't see it in the pic, but there is plenty of couch space for him to lay by himself. He does this in the bed too. I end up fighting for blanket with an 80lb Weim...
  4.   You have one in Lebanan...where your location shows you at.  Cops are supposed to know where all the good restaurants are.  :shake:   Anyway, there's also locations in M'Boro and Nashville.
  5.   Yep.  But, as I said, I'm eating there now because in the long run, they did the right thing.
  6. I have never eaten at Sunset Grill, but when all this was going on, one of the Demos' fell in lockstep with Rayburn and the others and had an editorial printed in the Tennessean. I responded and was slammed (online).  I didn't eat at Demos' for a couple of years (really hated that).   Since then, Demos' has made the decision to not post their locations and I am happily eating there again.  :)
  7. All this to say that ANY breed / upbringing can produce a dog that will bite. I just think that some breeds have a higher propensity to do so...as I mentioned in post #6.
  8.   My statement was somewhat tongue-in-cheek to make a point.  I don't have kids. To answer your question, no. I'm always around when the neighborhood kids want to play with the Sesame Street Dogs.     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgQNx_aRZgk   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N967CDqmxiE
  9. During my career, I've dealt with many dog vs people attacks.  99% have been Pits. One, a family pet, attacked a 3 year old...she lived but needed 116 stitches to her face and head. Another, severed a lady's Achillies tendon while she was walking her dog.   Yes, I've had to shoot a couple.  They are bullet sponges and are not impressed by the .40cal.   I love dogs (my Avatar is one of mine...I was holding the Holy Tennis Ball when I snapped the shot), but there are two breeds that I'm always leary of...Pits and Chows.   Pit lovers will say it's their upbringing.  I don't know...they seem to have this switch and you never know when it's going to be flipped.   My Weimaraners absolutely love kids and I wouldn't hesitate to leave them alone with a child.  The only bad thing that would happen would be "kissy slobber."
  10. Piston this, DI that...why hasn't this action become more popular? Some very successful firearms (MP5, G3, etc.) employ it.  Surely patents aren't an issue after all these years.   I was issued an MP5-SD in my youth, but I am, by no means, very knowledgeable on this subject and wanted to get some thoughts. Thanks
  11.   I understand business. However, then don't make promises you can't, or know, you won't keep.    As to Mr Costa...I'm a trainer (private and .gov) and I disagree with some of the stuff he teaches.  But, for you to call him a "tard" is childish and comes across as so. Overall, I think he puts out a good product. That's more than I can say for your company...
  12.   The "bearded 'tard" has more credibility with me than you / your company. I was promised (repeatedly) one of your Polish Tantal flash hiders over 3 years ago (#KA-1222B) and I still haven't seen it...
  13. If that's actually Costa posting that (I'm not a Facebook user), then it's not fishy to me. He's not done anything, that I'm aware of, to make me question his integrity.
  14. I've seen, firsthand, the results of numerous gunshot wounds. IMO, there are four ways these successfully end up (depending which end you're on).   1.  CNS damage (brain / upper spine).  The best. 2.  Heart / bloodloss.  Good, but even shot in the heart, someone can potentially be functional for 10-12 seconds with the oxygen already in the brain.  That's a long time in a fight. 3.  Structural damage.  They may still want to fight, but the wound won't allow them to. 4.  Psychological.  This one shouldn't even blip on your radar.  It happens, but don't count on it.   Ideally...use a round that consistantly gets 12-18" of penetration in 10% ballistic gel and reliably achieves about 1.5x original caliber expansion. If the round / caliber you carry can't do that, use FMJ or change calibers.   Oh, and hit something vital...
  15. The more important question to the OP...   Was she hot?
  16.   It wouldn't be hard, but a collector POV is different than a business POV.
  17. Nothing but positive experiences from Primary Arms.
  18.   I'm a Glock fanboy, but they have dropped the ball numerous times over the years. -A single stack small 9mm. -The carbine market. -A decent single stack 45acp. -Teething issues with the Gen4 9mms. -etc....
  19. I had a bobtailed Harrison/Springfield 5".  Loved it. The only reason that I sold it was that it wasn't a 4.25" commander.   Right now, if I ever get back into the 1911 game, the only production gun I would get would be a Dan Wesson Guardian in 9mm. Otherwise, custom built.
  20.   Same way they always do, "Grants."  They attach whatever requirement is envogue at the time to "free" money and equipment. The Locals can't resist, suck off the Federal tit, and then are beholdened. Happens all the time.   I'm actually proud to say that the Command Staff at my Dept doesn't buy into this behavior.  But, that is rare.
  21.       I do  (I just saw the same news story). Just wait for it to become law that to own a firearm, you have to have one of these installed on YOUR gun. After some LE beta-testing, that's the next step down the road of "reasonableness" and the tracking may not stop there.   I'm not normally a tinfoil hat guy, but the technology is already there and making these mandatory for gun owners is not that big of a stretch in some jurisdictions.
