  1. I've overlooked Baer for so long (FBI gun problems, he's kind of a dick, guns tighter than I prefer). However, lately I've been hearing so many good things that I'm thinking about Baer for my next 4.25" 1911.   I hope yours is all you're expecting...I'm excited for you.
  2. I got to fire a fullauto P90 (early 90's, while at Fort McClellan, going through the Army's SRT school...they told us that these were the 1st six in the country).   More comfortable than they look and you could literally write your name with one. Congrads.   Supposedly www.onesourcetactical.com has more 5.7 coming in. Hope that helps.
  3. Fighting Pistol (Yeager taught) Fighting Rifle (Yeager taught) Fighting Shotgun AK Armorer Pistol- Low Light (Yeager taught)   Some more than once...   All were excellent. Don't worry about your physical condition...they don't do ninja rolls. James Yeager...can he rub some people the wrong way?  Absolutely.  However, he's one of the most talented firearms instructors I've seen (and I've attended Rogers, Vickers, Suarez, Givens, Pincus, Werner, plus military, LE, and lesser knowns) and, he's not at all abusive in class.  Once you get to know him, he'll do anything for you (in the past, I owned/ran my own training school for 3 years here in MidTN and he was nothing but supportive). Some people can't get past his history and attitude.  That's cool.  But, if you can, you'll receive your money's worth.
  4. One of the last officers I dealt with in the military was Lt Col Dick. I, so badly, wanted to ask him how long he had been a Major.
  5. For a gun that's going to live its life in a pocket, I couldn't care less about its looks.   Reminds me of a dad story.  We're at a gunshow, he really wants a KelTec, he sees a brand new one in a less than desireable color (but at a totally smokin' price) and was going to pass because of its looks. "Dad, the only time someone is going to see this thing is when you're pointing it at their face...they won't be making fun of the color." He bought it...   That said, I'd be interested in this Beretta if it was a 9mm (obviously that would make it a bit bigger).

    colt commander

    Now that is service.
  7. ARRGGG...Why does she have to be USAF?? And, wow, a whole 2 years of service.
  8.   Yeah, exactly.  Like I said...
  9.   I've been out of the 1911 game for a little while and I think that I'm wanting to get a true "commander" sized gun (all steel and 4.25" with traditional recoil system).  I'm not wanting entry level, but this doesn't have to be a Baer/Nighthawk/etc. What makes this better than Remington's offering?
  10.   Wow, quite a testament.    Anyway, I'll echo what others have said about Kimber...with the exception of the original Series 1 guns (I've had several).  They're much better than current production and all mine ran like sewing machines.
  11.   Loved Facing Violence (obviously), but I didn't get much out of Meditations on Violence.   BTW, Rory Miller didn't write The Little Black Book on Violence...he just wrote a foreward in it.
  12. You did a fantastic job! I'm a Glock guy and, unless it's a Gen4 or RTF model, I require a stipple job on my Glocks.  For those that don't get it, take a 2-day / 1000 round course in 90+ heat...after awhile it's like trying to shoot a wet fish.   I'd love to hear a little more detail on your technique, ie. getting the shallow fuzzy vs the more dimpled versions.
  13. :)   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhGih7eWI3E
  14. The above is NYPD ESU.  Supposedly, their high-speed guys.   Jeez...I've worked for the government since I was 20 years old (military or LE).  So far, I'd like to think that I haven't been indoctrinated yet. Everyone makes mistakes, but sheer incompetence, funded by tax dollars, is irritating.
  15. From a recent standoff in NY State apparently. Yeah, I'll stay in charge of my personal safety, thank you.
  16.   Doubt it...they weren't in cuffs.   Anyway, funny vid.
  17. This has been needed for a long time...across the country. The whole "guilty until proven innocent" aspect, especially with large amounts of cash, is shameful.
  18.   Roger that...no arguments. Thanks   Also, edited my first statement to you...misread yours.
