I plan on attending and am gonna try to get there in the 11-noon-ish time range. I don't mind to bring something for food if needed. Any suggestions?
-
I'm assuming most of you guys will be going from Knoxville up to 81? From me, It will probably be easier to go over to Bean Station and over through 11w. But just thought I would throw this out there if anyone wanted to share the ride time?
-
So we're talking about 11-noonish? Looking forward to it!
-
Why yes....I am.
-
So roughly what time are things gonna start up? Also, what does everyone have in mind for targets(since i'm assuming there are no pieces of plywood to staple up plates and targets...haha)?
-
Don't know quite yet what i'll have going on, but I may try to make it down if nothing is happening.
-
If you guys need it, Let me know. I'd be happy to help.

Hate that I missed it guys, I just got back from my camping trip. We had a pretty good time, The fish didn't quite cooperate, but still fun nonetheless. Hopefully I can make the next show.

I usually don't post in regards to topics like this, but I remember listening to Ray Stevens when I was younger, and thought this was too funny(and also true) not to post...

Hey Kevin, How are ya? I wish I was going to be able to make it this weekend, but like I said....I can't pass up a camping trip. I am however hoping to make the next one(whenever that may be?). As far as looking for a weapon, I have already got something a few months ago. I picked up a M&P9c, which I couldn't be happier with. I haven't went to take my carry permit class yet, but that is on my list of "to-do's" when I come up with the $$$.

Whatcha gonna get?

Well, I was planning on being there, However I got invited to go camping up in VA this weekend, so unfortunetly I won't be there. Can't turn down a camping trip when it comes up. Maybe I can make the next one.

I got to shoot Mike.357's Hipoint while at Norris the other day and it was alright, but I guess I am just wanting something with abit more "bang"...haha. The reason I stated "less expensive ammo" is I was meaning something isn't gonna cost me 50 cents to a dollar every time I pull the trigger...haha.

I don't know what i'm gonna end up with guys, Like I said...I am just trying to figure out whats out there right now. I am not really ready to buy yet. OS, A Mosin is on my list of "to get's" eventually... I appreciate the input so far! Thanks!

I have been doing abit of research on these guns, What can you tell me about them? For the price, I wouldn't be opposed to one of these if I liked how they felt/shot. With the cartridges you mentioned, I'm assuming the 7.62x39 would be abit cheaper than the 5.56 wouldn't it? I see they also offer these guns in a 5.45x39...But it seems(from what i've read) that this cartridge may be abit harder to come by than the 7.62...Does that sound about right?

Hoping not to highjack anything, but I was just researching these abit myself, and I keep seeing something about some sort of Ban, which some say is the reason they convert these? Could someone explain this?

So i'm doing a little pre-research, as I hope to one day be able to get me some sort of cheaper(price-wise) semi-auto rifle that is just a fun to shoot type gun. I'm talking guns like(or alternative to) an AR, Mini-14, SKS, etc, etc. I really don't know much about these guys or what is really available out there, so i'm leaving it up to you guys. As much as I would love to have a full "pimped-out" AR, I know that is simply not an option for me due to their price. So i'm kinda thinking something that could be optained for under say....$400 or so bucks. Also, I would like something that wouldn't cost me an arm and an leg to run some rounds through at the range, so less expensive ammo is a big plus as well. I wouldn't be opposed to an older style military type gun either(like an SKS, or anything of the such). So i'm just kinda curious as to what my options are when the day comes that I can come up with the extra coin. So anyone that would like to shed some light for me, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I'll think what I want.....

Hmm...I was just thinking about maybe trying to make it out tomorrow myself. I may try to make it, but again...depending on weather.

Haha, Ok....I'm no spelling scholar, but i'm really no "Bubba" either.

I wouldn't be opposed to start doing yardwork, however I don't really have the funds to buy the equipment needed to get started. Otherwise, I probably would've looked into the lawn business awhile ago...haha.

LOL! If only that was true!

Hey Guys, So I got laid off this past New Years Eve from my previous job of 4+yrs. I have been drawing on my unemployment since then, and have been keeping my eye open for something in the same field I have been to school for and was working in(CAD/Drafting). I have been to school and was working in this field, but it seems these jobs are few and far between at the moment...or just get snatched up to fast to find them. I was looking at my unemployment check today and realized that my unemployment is dwendling down and would really like to be able to obtain a good(descent) job before I have to deal with re-applying(if even possible) for this again. Anyways, I was hoping some of my fellow TGO'ers may happen to know of any leads I may follow for a job or be able to help in anyway. I am not asking for handouts here or anything, just need some help finding a descent job. If anyone has ever been to Tazewell, they know there isn't much around here, so to find a descent paying job I am basically stuck either trying to find something in knoxville or possibly morristown. But if anyone happens to know of anything, I would appreciate it if you could let me know. Again, I would appreciate any help. Thanks By the way....I know I can't really limit my choices down to just what I "want" to do, so I also have some basic knowledge of construction type work(I worked at the local building supply store and designed the roof & floor trusses and was frequently on job sites measuring, figuring, etc). I like to think I am also good as far as customer service goes, working with customers, etc. I have also dabbled with graphic design as well and I am fairly knowledgable with computers and the "basic" computer programs...and can usually catch on to new things fast as well. I would really be open to alot of "hands on" type jobs. Anyways, if you know of anything, Let me know. Thanks again.

Thanks guys, I may have to look into it if the federal stuff isn't available.

Can anybody help me get this website to work right again?

Yup, mosinon gave some good advice. I've found alot of times problems similar to this can be fixed with a simple browser change. If that doesn't work, I would continue his directions.
