  1. So you are all for the carpet bombing of thousands of innocent men, women and children, but take exception to the fact that we waterboard some combatants that we picked up on the battlefield? That makes a lot of sense How about sending the message that if you are a terrorist and we pick you up on the battlefield, we're going to make your life a little unpleasant? Considering that these terrorists hide behind women and children I don't think the threat of us killing those women and children are going to change their minds a whole lot. Knowing that they themselves might be in for some rough times might.
  2. Man, I can't believe I haven't seen this thread until now. Nice to see so many people enjoying the NHL playoffs. I'm a huge hockey fan, been watching since the 70's and if you can't tell from my name, I'm a big Montreal Canadiens fan (and for all the Detroit fans out there, if they win it this year, they'll be half way to the Canadiens Cup total ). As for this series it's been really good (with the exception of the last game). I think it'll go 7 with Detroit winning it. The Pens are a different team at home but just can't seem to get things going in Detroit. They'll bounce back from game 5 but I think Detroit will end up taking it back in Detroit (though I really hope I'm wrong).
  3. 02 Nissan Xterra 93 BMW 525i. No car payments for me and hope to keep it that way.
  4. I think if I felt the need to draw my weapon, I'd make the call to 911 to have it on record. What happens if the bad guy in this case calls the police to report you for pointing a gun at him? I'd want my version of things on record first.
  5. Here's an advance welcome to the US from a fellow Commonwealther
  6. No, you don't have to be a citizen to own a gun. If he was going to become a citizen the next day, then he had to at least have a green card (permanant resident) and that allows you to own/buy a gun. In TN it's enough to allow you to get a carry permit.
  7. That's not true... Mythbusters: Polishing a Turd : Video : Discovery Channel
  8. You (and others) have kept us really well informed of the whole process and I would like to say thank you.
  9. Wow, you really aren't a 'glass is half full' kind of guy are you? The curfew wasn't in the bill's summary which is what was quoted. They're not trying to sneak something in, the bill is running it's course. We've cleared the toughest hurdle, the House. Stop looking for the boogey man and let the process happen.
  10. You're a day early, but nonetheless, thanks you to all veterans for your service.
  11. Thanks for the imput guys. I know that whatever I order I'm in for a long wait, but I've waited this long so what's a few more months .
  12. I'm almost ready to order an upper to finish off my AR15 build and have it narrowed down to 2 choices and would like some opinions on which one I should go with. First is Del-Ton M4 16" with M4 feed ramps, no other upgrades (comes with CAR hand guard). The other is a Stag Arms M4 16" upper with chrome lined barrel, rear flip up sights, M4 hand guard but no M4 feed ramps. The Stag would end up being about $45 more shipping included. Any thoughts or opinions you guys can give me I'd appreciate.
  13. I had to read over your thread a few times to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me when I saw Nafieh voted No. So is it possible that we lost this vote because some reps didn't take the time to clarify what a yes or no vote actually meant?
  14. In TN you can open or conceal carry so there is no issue with printing. In fact, TN made the carry laws that way so that you wouldn't be charged if you did accidently printed. Definately not brandishing. There are other states where you can't print but not an issue here.
  15. Check out this thread http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/newsworthy-reports/20309-shots-fired-verizon-wireless-store.html Seems like the updated story shows it was a good shooting.
  16. Yeah, I got one of those in the mail. Just laughed and then threw it in the trash.
  17. I think the thread was about openly carrying illegals to the voting booths...or something like that
  18. ????? I don't think I'm following your logic here. Why would you have to open up voting to illegals if citizenship requires being born here (which it does)? By definition, if you are illegal, then obviously you were not born here and not a citizen? Plus, define "investment". Is it simply paying taxes? If so, which taxes, as most people who have bought anything have paid sales tax so they would qualify. Is it income tax? If so, how much would be needed? I'm not a citizen but I pay income tax and own a home so should I be allowed to vote? Where do you draw the line? And btw, I came here the legal way putting up with all the immigration that the gov't puts you through. At one point I though about just changing my name to Miguel since that would make it easier
  19. Well, that to me would be negotiating...let the captain go, surrender and continue breathing...keep going down this path and die, which ultimately they did. That kind of negotiating I can agree with, it lessens the chance of the captain dying if you can peacefully end the standoff. As for negotiating in the sense of paying them off to let the captain go, then I completely agree we can't do that.
  20. Well this wasn't a local incident. Any proof that the Navy had their authority removed and it wasn't standard procedure to not engage unless engaged upon? Define experience. I agree he has no real experience in leadership but I would bet most new presidents don't have experience in how to handle pirates. At least not in the last 100 years. I'm not trying to pick a fight, simply disagreeing with you. I thought that was what these forums were for, discussion/debate/etc. Sorry if take offense to my contrary opinion. I'll try my best to agree with everything you say from now on.
