  1. Back home in Canada today is called Rememberance Day and it's a time to reflect on the sacrifices made to ensure our freedom and to remember those that paid the ultimate price. The poem In Flanders Field is always read and holds a special meaning for us. Thank you vets. In Flanders Fields In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. — Lt.-Col. John McCrae (1872 - 1918)
  2. Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
  3. The Customers Who Viewed This Item Also Viewed section had some great ones also, including this one Amazon.com: JL421 Badonkadonk Land Cruiser/Tank: Everything Else
  4. If you are going to travel through Canada, take a look at this link, it lays out what you can and can't take into Canada and what documentation you will need. BSF5044 - Importing a Firearm or Weapon Into Canada
  5. I don't believe that's true. I don't see churches as a prohibited place in this link http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/kentucky.pdf
  6. I'm both salivating and having pains in my chest at the same time.
  7. I agree, great holster. I carry an XD9 in mine and sometimes forget I even have it on.
  8. I see where you are coming from as far as carrying 'weapons'. But doesn't the part of the TCA that defines weapons state: Any other implement for infliction of serious bodily injury or death which has no common lawful purpose So my question would be do these things meet that definition? Penny roll, yes. Scissors, yes. Ice pick, yes. I would even say yes to tasers, but can pepper spray cause serious bodily injury or death?
  9. Glockmeister, I think you have made 2 different statements that have caused some of the confusion on what you are trying to say. Can any of those things you mentioned be considered weapons? I would say yes, they can and that would include pepper spray and tasers. The problem is that you initially said that technically, pepper spray and tasers are illegal. So by your reasoning, technically penny rolls, scissors and even automobiles are illegal. There is a difference between something being able to be considered a weapon and something that is illegal. It would go to intent and not the object itself.
  10. It's a sweet lens. I am just starting to get into photography...picked up a slightly used Canon 20D and am still learning the ropes. I originally said I didn't want to get too involved and buy lots of things, but now as I learn more, there are lots of things I now 'need'. Why do the good hobbies all cost so much?
  11. Sweet fancy Moses!!!! That's quite the lens! I'm guessing you are a professional photog?
  12. Great pics! Brings back lots of memories of living in NYC. What lens were you breaking in?
  13. That is freaking GENIUS! Liberals' heads would explode trying to figure out which side to argue against ("we can't torture, but wait we must let the muslims practice their religion, but we can't torture....AHHHHH!!!!")
  14. I've actually done this stone cold sober at a museum...not one of my finer moments.
  15. Yes, it does apply to buying any gun. There are some special circumstances where you can buy guns without a green card, but I think they have to do with hunting or something like that. I should have made that more clear in my last post.
  16. You have to be a permanant resident (ie green card) to get your HCP. A work visa won't cut it. When you apply you show them your green card instead of birth certificate/passport. Getting my HCP was one of the first things I did when I got my green card. One other thing, when buying a gun, you have to prove residency for the past 90 days so bring utility bills for the last 3 months. Some places don't ask for this, but some will and it is required.
  17. So when you are pumped up on adrenalin you won't have the coordination to keep your finger off the trigger or to not fire until you want to, but you will have the coordination to operate a safety?
  18. How true...that's why I bought mine.
  19. Fixed it for you
  20. Don't you know there are no guanantees in life? Carrying a gun doesn't even guarantee that you won't get shot or hurt, it just gives you a better chance to defend yourself if needed. A business owner still has rights to limit things on his property and while I might not like it, that's his right. When we start taking rights away, you start down a slippery slope.
  21. Ok, then take that group of people and move them from your lawn to a public business. Then they should be able to protest all they want and the owner can't do anything about it? So you wouldn't have a problem if you were at your favourite restaurant and a group of anti-gun protesters came in and disrupted your meal. I mean allowing the owner to remove them would take away their freedom of speech.
  22. And you have the right to not go on their property. Then they are not taking away your right to defend yourself. By your logic, if we wanted to hold a protest or large gathering to make some kind of statement, we should be able to just all gather on your front lawn and there would be nothing you could do about it cause you'd be taking away our 1st amendment rights.
  23. They can still ask you to leave and you would have to go. The only real difference would be that you would not be breaking the law just by going into a posted location (which I agree should be the case).
  24. If the system is broke to the point that those with money are willing to spend it, hows does that help the middle class that can't afford it. For something like a knee replacement where you can wait for 2 years, albeit in great discomfort and not really having a full life, then fine. But what if you need an mri that will find something that needs to be treated right away? After the 6-18 months it takes, it may be too late to help you. How does that help the working man or middle class?
