So, it is law in some states and ethics in others. Some cases have eroded the law/ethical requirement. Clear as mud. Just like gun laws.
-
A legal obligation an an ethics obligation is two different things. You can have a license pulled for both. It will very state to state, but Kent State University was teaching it in the late 90s. A lawyer can be correct in a statement that they don't have a legal obligation they do have a ethical obligation. I will try and get my wife to pull it up. I'll see if the standards have changed over the years.

Yes

^^This is correct^^. You are responsible for your own safety. This is what we preach on this platform when it comes to guns. If you are at risk you should protect yourself. Stay at home. Don't allow others in your home. If your kid goes on spring break, they get to stay in a motel for two weeks after. Saying everyone else should stay at home is different than saying government should make people stay home. I have coworkers that are saying they have to get out because work is forcing the to go to work. The last time I checked, a company does not own its employees. You have a choice. Some at TGO are advocating ending other people's rights because of fear. This is no different from the left wanting guns ban. Could this cost some lives? Yes. The government is not here to protect you from your own stupidity. They do try. I have a medically fragile child. She would most likely not survive if she contracted coronavirus. I have no right to infringe on all of your rights because of my child's issues. It is my job to keep her safe. Not yours.

I've been listening to so called conservatives and libertarian tell me that the government needs to be more like China in the fight against coronavirus. It's starting to get on my nerves. Should some businesses close to help stop the spread? Yes. Should government shut them down? No. Should nurses help out? Yes. Should government make them? No. I'm seeing a lot of people that are very outspoken on their principles, but now that they have some skin in the game they are all about the government controlling everyone.
-
If the government can shut down businesses and you're okay with it. If the government can force you to stay home and you're okay with it. If the government can pull you over for no other reason than to ask you were you are going and you're okay with it. If the government can fine or jail you for noncompliance and you're okay with it. They can make you work or they will punish you for noncompliance and you'll be okay with it.

The board of nursing is responsible for pulling a license not a hospital. If a nurse is guilty of dereliction of duty they will pull their license. Refusing to help someone in need is dereliction of duty. Think about a lawyer. They go to college and learn how to be a lawyer, but they must pass the Bar before practicing. They can also be disbarred for different reasons. Same thing can happen to me, but they call it black listing.
-
It probably wouldn't be "unpaid". They can revoke a nursing license if they don't stop at an unattended auto accident involving injuries. It's hard to prove and I don't know if it's ever been done or not, but it is an option. When the Wife got one of her 15 letters at the end of her name, she was advised not to put anything on her car that indicated she was in the medical field. That being said, one guy is alive because we stopped and one guy had been dead for a while.

My wife and her coworkers fear it will be a " or we will take your nursing license " arrangement.

I'm throwing a bunch of money in the stocks. A buddy dropped over 100k in a week ago. He's made a bit, but that and real estate is all he does.

Coronavirus: The cure can’t be worse than the problem!
Alleycat72 replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
We know about probably 95% of the people that die from it and a small percentage of people that have/had it. So many people have had flu like symptoms and tested negative for flu this year. The numbers are also skewed by the rate of testing. As testing increases exponentially so will the positive test results. The actual rate of new cases should be the difference between the two. -
My youngest daughter has a condition that makes any injuries or sickness potentiality life threatening. We only have two hospitals in the area that can deal with the condition. The injection that keeps her alive on the way to the hospital can't be administered by anyone other than a me, my wife, or a doctor so ambulance trips are out. I know how you feel, but the flu is worse for kids.

Come on man, Tom Hardy was the guy. Hansom Bob. I think he had a little dance in that movie.

Wasn't Tom Hardy in a movie with handsome Rob?

6 or 6.5x47 lapua. My daughter shot a 6mm brx for her first 1000 yard gun at 10 years old. The only reason to get a big gun is if you need to kill something at 1k right now. A steel plate has no idea how much energy it's getting hit with.

I'm going to assume he did something else. I have a Jewish buddy that refers to himself as a Jew all the time. Is it considered racist now or is something else going on?

Interesting conversation with my son on Covid-19
Alleycat72 replied to Grayfox54's topic in General Chat
I have coworkers that have been shot, two that have been in shootouts with bad guys, and we sometimes deal with dead people. Nobody bats an eye, but coronavirus happens and now we take precautions. -
I'm ordering a CMMG banshee Monday. I've got three 5 gal buckets of 9mm brass, a 9mm suppressor I don't use on my handgun, and a need to protect my toilet paper.

There are some reports that a county in Tennessee has denied all coronavirus tests for fear of having a positive in that county. One group owns most of the small offices in the county and that group is the one doing the approvals. I think the hysteria is BS, but people that want to be tested should be.

So many people running around today giving out free food. Kind of amazing.
