  1. Had to do that on a buddy's 6.8 about 12 hours before we headed to Texas for a hunt. It ran like a champ, but doing it that late in the game is ruff.
  2. I shoot an ton of both. And the answer to your question is, it depends. I load all of my ammo and both are run through semiautos in places I can't pick up my brass. Snakes are a problem and it's a big no no to pick up brass at night. If I'm hunting pigs the I have to run premium bullets, but all my brass is free. With the 308, I have to pay for the brass and bullets. However I can use the cheapest 150 softpoints I can find. The blackout becomes more expensive to shoot than the 308. The blackout is also less effective on running pigs. If I'm hunting deer the blackout doesn't require a $0.80 bullet so it becomes cheaper.
  3. http://www.teppojutsu.com/ Marty is to the 458 socom like JDJ is to the blackout.
  4. I have two 458 barrels. One I got from Marty Tee Weeme. It's a 6.5". That upper is perfect. I later got an 11.5" from someone else. They never removed the lug at 6 o'clock. After I fixed that, it shot great for a while. The guy had a custom reamer made for the first gen starline brass. After starline increased the neck thickness on the 458, the gun would cycle subs. That chamber was a fitted chamber at that point. I had to have the chamber re-cut. The 458 is a hammer, but can be a pita.
  5. I had no idea they were making them now. We did it ourselves. It sounds under gassed. Are the spent cases thrown far from the gun?
  6. Really need more info. Ejecting and bolt closes on empty chamber? Round halfway in the chamber? Bolts closed 95% . Did you half moon your steel mag?
  7. You and me both.
  8. Yeah,....... I'm going have to pass.
  9. Some 20mm rounds require a $200 stamp. Depends on how many oz of explosive are in the bullet. Been a while, but I seem to recall some manufacturers were just below the threshold and some were just above it.
  10. I just received a N-vision 35mm NOX. They put in a pelican case and put the pelican case in a cardboard box. Guess what's all over the box. N-vision Nightvision equipment. A reticle All the stuff that says "Take me".
  11. Turks and Caicos
  12. You need to have a test before getting on the plane or entering a foreign country. It has to be less than 72 hours old and approved by the airline and the country. It doesn't leave a large margin of error. My Wife and Daughter are traveling for my Daughter's graduation present. My birthday and my Daughter's birthday are extremely close and my wife put the wrong day on her covid test and my Daughter was denied entry into the country 5 hours before she was about to leave. The country would not let her in without a new form from the lab. We had 3 options. 1. They don't go and 6k is lost. 2. Get someone at the lab at 11:00 at night and get it fixed. 3. Something my Wife really wants me to explain when she gets back. I go to work on 2 and 3. I can't get the lab, but I can get to the people that can get to the lab. That angle works, but could take 48 hours. After a little work plan 3 in nailed down. They get on the plane without approval of the receiving country. Finally get the correction from the lab. Submit correction to the receiving country. My Daughter gets approved in the air. 1. I hate this covid BS. 2. The airline didn't catch the mistake. 3. I hate covid.
  13. They are college kids? Did anyone under 21 give someone payment for a handgun?
  14. I spray too, but he has s
  15. Disk it up and plant alfalfa.
  16. Seed the bare spots with crimson clover. Sea of red and white would be cool.
  17. I would take the 30k. I'm hourly and subject to call. If I get a call from anyone in the company and they asked a work related question, I get 3 hours of OT.
  18. On the bridges I've worked around, the rivet heads are the size of a quarter. I've never messed with a bridge for vehicle traffic though. Never mind, looks like it's bolted together.
  19. In Columbia also. Thank God we have a reserve at work.
  20. As far as E4 No More 's dislike of my post.... 1. A law enforcement officer buddy informed me that some felons may possess modern firearms depending on the felony they were convicted of. This is even if they can't pass a background check. He asked what the conviction was and he'd talk to his DA. 2. If the guy was convicted of rape or anything that involves a child, I'm not interested in helping him.
  21. If he has a hunters safety certificate from a different state, he's good in Tennessee. No need to take Tennessee's course.
