  1. Most of the thermals I use suggest this one. https://www.illumn.com/18650-keeppower-3500mah-sanyo-ncr18650ga-protected-button-top.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwrPCGBhALEiwAUl9X07slzvwJcK0TRCH_TDThb_ZfWH3oXoc9NNaU1xoOlB5W-pNn-R4CiRoCXVcQAvD_BwE
  2. 19 more down Friday night. Our buddy opened up with his M16. 33 hours from middle Tennessee to Texas and back to Tennessee. Planning 2 to 3 more runs this year. Probably going to do a 2 night hunt October or September. I did laugh my ass off at my buddy. He had a 200 lb hog almost get him with its cutters. I popped it and we discussed his octave range.
  3. Well for cost plus $50 I'll order one for you so there's no paper trail.
  4. Watch the video on the reliability mod.
  5. Well it's harder to find creosote posts than I thought.
  6. https://firearmsystems.net/product/tac-con-3mr/#.YM9AcBhOnqs This trigger is slower, but 3 position.
  7. We've all been there.
  8. I put stuff like "Call me big Poppa" in the comments. "Look out for huge snake in the garage " Trying to make someone's day a little better.
  9. I was thinking that. My need to call UPS.
  10. I get it, but people don't care about signs. I mean I'll walk right past a gun buster sign in a hart beat. When the crops are up I'll get 3 to 4 people a week asking if they can pick some. I have caught people stealing crops and delt with that in a way that could have been handled better. Trying to cut all of that off a the source. My Wife really doesn't want any more large men looking in the window asking if he can have some turnip greens.
  11. That's a problem at my place. My driveway is really long and off a heavy traveled highway. I get regular packages weekly for my special needs daughter. The other problem is I found 3 guys half way up my driveway yesterday.
  12. How do you guys deal with UPS/FEDEX drivers? I also may have a problem with power so how good are the solar units. I do have a power pole near so I could possibly have a meter service put in.
  13. It'll just make me want a machinegun I can't afford
  14. Really wish you could get sub moa out of these guns. The cetme and fal are just cool guns.
  15. It needs lasers.
  16. Here's a fun one for you. Snakes are very hard to see with a thermal. The Texas guys we hunt with tell us that hogs eat snakes and the only rattlesnakes that survive are the ones that don't rattle and they have a lot that don't rattle. I don't even care if it's true or not. I have my snake boots and the snakes can have the brass.
  17. Maybe I should have used the joke emoji.
  18. That's what the electrical tape at the correct distance is for. The aluminum collar for the sophisticated drill user. The drill press stoppy thingy for the elite.
  19. Open up the registry for new machineguns and we'll call it even. I'll hold my breath.
  20. Had to do that on a buddy's 6.8 about 12 hours before we headed to Texas for a hunt. It ran like a champ, but doing it that late in the game is ruff.
  21. I shoot an ton of both. And the answer to your question is, it depends. I load all of my ammo and both are run through semiautos in places I can't pick up my brass. Snakes are a problem and it's a big no no to pick up brass at night. If I'm hunting pigs the I have to run premium bullets, but all my brass is free. With the 308, I have to pay for the brass and bullets. However I can use the cheapest 150 softpoints I can find. The blackout becomes more expensive to shoot than the 308. The blackout is also less effective on running pigs. If I'm hunting deer the blackout doesn't require a $0.80 bullet so it becomes cheaper.
  22. http://www.teppojutsu.com/ Marty is to the 458 socom like JDJ is to the blackout.
  23. I have two 458 barrels. One I got from Marty Tee Weeme. It's a 6.5". That upper is perfect. I later got an 11.5" from someone else. They never removed the lug at 6 o'clock. After I fixed that, it shot great for a while. The guy had a custom reamer made for the first gen starline brass. After starline increased the neck thickness on the 458, the gun would cycle subs. That chamber was a fitted chamber at that point. I had to have the chamber re-cut. The 458 is a hammer, but can be a pita.
