  1. Yes. Kinda what got what got the ball rolling on getting back in shape.
  2. Just back from Texas. 19ish hours of driving. 6.5 hours of hunting. 4.8 miles of walking in muddy fields. 3.9 hours of sleep. Dead pigs everywhere. All in 36 hours. Two more trips pending in the next 3 months.
  3. I haven't been tested, but my snoring stopped at or around 200 lbs. I have may hart rate and 02 checked every 10 minutes with my watch. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it's tracked my sleep actually. My 02 looks good at night and my resting hart rate has steadily dropped.
  4. I was running 3 miles and walking the rest. A buddy told me in need to change from heal/toe running to toe/heal running. Yeah! You really need to take that slow. I have two tendons that get mad after about a 1-1.5 miles of running now. I'm shutting the running down for a month or 2. It suck because it takes 1h 15 minutes for a 5 mile "walk".
  5. Sleep is very irregular. I have a watch recording my sleep. It's as little a 3.5 hours on work days and sometimes as good as 7.5 on off days. Normally it's a bit over 6 h a night. I'm usually up 4 to 6 times a night. Most of times I'm up are related to my youngest Daughter that has to be in the room adjacent to our bedroom. O2 is good and in the high 90s. I've been told my sleep is the major factor, but I don't see any way around that one.
  6. This is what I'm afraid of. I've hit starvation mode about 3 times while losing weight this time. No loss for 3 weeks. Normally I'd go have a really big high calorie meal one night. I'd wake up 2 lbs lighter. I hit 176 a few months ago and decided to try and eat normal. This ended up with my waight stabilizing at 180-181. I've got to figure out how to eat at this stage in my life. I haven't had fast food for a year. I will get a Jersey mike's mini 7 without cheese, but it's in the 350 cal range. I think the gotcha calories are what's derailing me. I'm a sucker for The pizza place pizza. My Wife brings it home and I'm toast. We are starting a policy of "Hide all the good stuff from daddy ". Maybe that'll fix it. LOL
  7. 8 years ago when we adopted the 3 little ones, I was 165 lbs and didn't have gray hair. LOL I looked bad at 165. Kinda sickly. 174 is a healthy weight for me. BMI is so out of date.
  8. Problem is, I've dropped 46.6 lbs this year. All the easy waight is gone. I have no illusions my eating is the issue I've gained about 10 lbs of muscle in that time. My Wife stress bakes. I'm not blaming her, but we have a bit of stress due to kids. I'm the problem. Stress makes me want to drink whisky or eat. I'm trying to make that the gym my go to. At this point I'm either working out or I have a cookie she's cooked. I'm starting to get friends committing about the amount of time I spend exercising.
  9. I'll take the "Magpul SL-K Stock (Black) New, no box. $30" Can pick up tomorrow in Columbia or Springhill.
  10. I've lost a bit of weight this year a the last 5 are killing me. In the Last 3 days I've done 20 miles on foot and 3 hours on the waight machines. I do a minimum of 35 miles every 2 weeks period. Gym on off days. On work days I'll do 120 push ups and 150 arm curls with two 25 lib dumbbells. Work days will sometimes get a 3 mile walk when I get home. I work 12 hours days, but only 80 hours per two week period, so I get as many off days as work days. I try and kayak at least 10 mile every 2 weeks. I had a system of eating that was working until now. Day 1 = 650 cal, day 2 = 850 cal, day 3 = 1000-1050 cal, day 4 =1250 cal, and day 5 = 1750 cal. After day 5 I started over. I've gotten to the point I can't jeep it up. By day 3 I get dizzy and start eating. It ends up being a 2300 cal day. My calorie intake is anywhere between 1250 and 2000 cal a day now. The majority of the days being in the 1700-1900. I'm 5' 9" 180 now. I've always felt my best at 174-175, but I just turned 50. Am I being unrealistic? I do feel stronger and healthier now than I did when I was 25. I just want that 175 damn number. LOL
  11. Well,....we knew the life of Kyle Rittenhouse instantly. It took a bit longer to find out about the scumbag child molester he shot. I'm not sure why the media thought a minor attracted person's privacy was more important, but I have an idea.
  12. They are trying awfully hard to keep it a secret. It makes me wonder if something was going on at that school everyone wants secret or the shooter doesn't follow the narrative some want. Could be a bit of both or neither. Reminds me of the Vagas shooting. "Something bad happened. We didn't have a clue why. Guns are bad. Look the other way. "
  13. Funny thing. If you have standing corn, you can hunt over it. If you bush hog some of it down and corn is on the ground, you can hunt over it. If you pour the same exact amount on the ground from a bag, you cannot hunt over it. That is baiting. You can hunt over anything that falls from a plant or tree.
  14. I have a unique work schedule, but..... If you're Wife usually does the cooking, have supper ready for her. Get the house clean. Get flowers. Take her lunch to work. Take a day off work to do something she needs to do. Tell her how important she is to you. Do a bunch of stuff with the kids.......all day.......away from her. I insist my Wife go to dinner with her friends at least once a month. I have insisted she get a massage from a lady that's local. I listen to her. I watch the kids when she wants to go to Bell buckle. I make a fool of myself just so the whole family gets a laugh. I take her single mother on vacation with us without my Wife asking. I take care of business when she's doing things the law says she can't tell me about. I tell her when the day was a bad day so she knows not to ask what happened or what I had to do that day. I listen to her when she finally gets to tell me what she's been dealing with. I scratch her back. I try and fail to be a good father, but I continue to try. I go to concerts with our oldest. I had a female boss tell me that she was surprised I let my Wife go to church because I wasn't religious. I told her I didn't have the right to tell my Wife what she could or couldn't believe or do. I don't own my Wife. That boss looked at me like i was a alien. I was treated differently at work after that. My Wife has never once told me what I have to do, believe, or act a certain way. From then on, my boss would bounce ideas off me because I " have a way of seeing things differently than everyone else sees them ". Work at finding things that make her happy and get it done. After a while, she'll do the same. It will become a competition and you'll both win. After a while it becomes normal. Next thing you know,.......25 years have passed and your best friend will be sitting beside you. I hope that one day I'll be worthy of my Wife. She agrees with me. LOL
  15. A bunch of game wardens had m16s that had been converted to semiauto. They issued them new rifles 4 or 5 years ago that didn't have a 3rd hole. I have no idea what they did with the old guns. I offered two of whatever gun they wanted for each m16 they would transfer to me. They said no.
  16. I have probably 40k. I could part with a 5 gallon bucket full.
  17. My Wife is better at it than I am. One of the times my Wife was getting $0.25 gas, she had a lady in her 80s pull up next to her. My Wife asked her if she minded if she filled up her tank for her. It costs us almost nothing, but we were happy for days talking about how that affected the lady. A random stranger just made her day and gave her a great story to tell.
  18. Every day I try make my Wife smile and laugh at least once. Every day I try to make a someone's day just a little bit better than it was.
  19. I was just in close proximity to a bunch of people with NASA Wednesday. They were having a super in Huntsville, Alabama. I was only challenged once by security and my Wife was able to direct NASA personal without question. It's really not that hard. She's not even in the game and people deferred to her. They were talking about stuff they shouldn't have been at the bar next door and said as much. It was ridiculous. I got to the motel at midnight and found out about the shooting. You have soft targets and you have soft targets. One day someone that's not crazy will do it and a gun is not the most effective way.
  20. Let's be honest. Let's say I was red flagged and crazy as hell. They took all of my guns. All I'd have to do is go out in the yard a pick some plants or fuel up one of several big trucks I have access to. Look up placards on Google and do some cooking. The only way to stop someone is take them away. People just don't have the stomach for it anymore. Taking guns away is part feel good and part control. It does nothing to the bad guy, but it will control the good guys. The root cause is crazy mfers on happy pills. They help a lot, but a small percentage go off.
  21. They are on the way. It's not for me, but they are on the way. Had an eotech that was sent to the house. The order originated in Iraq. I had no idea it was coming. Apparently the LC wanted a 300 blackout model for his personal gun when he got back state side. There was a few questions and paperwork over that one. LOL
  22. The Wife and I got home from the Heilung concert this morning and level 3+ body armor was sitting in the doorway. Took a minute to figure that out because it was a perfect fit. LOL
