I wish they'd make the 1301 comp in Gallatin. I'd probably be on that.

I will have one soon, and it will be SBR'd with a sliding stock and probably suppressed. My buddy has a Gen 1, and it is awesome. His has the folding Sig brace, but I think he is going to SBR his, too. What has pushed me over the edge to finally get a 9mm carbine is the new PCC divisions in 3 gun and USPSA. It'll be cheaper to shoot than 5.56, and I can actually practice with it in the ORSA action pistol bays (we're not allowed to shoot rifle calibers there except on match day). The only things that I don't like are: 1.) the AR-style charging handle. I wish they had gone with a side charger like the CZ 2.) The gun feels kinda heavy for how small it is 3.) The trigger feels like any mil-spec AR trigger (because it basically is). The good part is you can put aftermarket AR triggers in it. Mine will probably have a Geissele Super 3G.

Where do you buy your cast boolits?
LawVol replied to Westwindmike's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I've been shooting plated the last couple years but recently started trying out coated. So far, the Blue Bullets have shot really well for me. -
I'd be in at $1500 if I thought 922r parts would be reasonable and easy to find. Since none are those things are going to happen, I'll stick with the plan to sbr an MPX

Totally jealous of all you! What a dillema to have. My wife has a "10 minutes from Target rule", so I will probably never have a backyard range.

I bought one last year after using a Dillon Square Deal B for a few years. I worked a Cabela's deal and wound up getting it for $330, which I felt was too good to pass up. As others have said, it can be finicky. I load mainly 9mm, and I was hoping I'd be able to crank out rounds faster, especially with the bullet feeder die. Unfortunately, I have not made it through a single batch of 100 rounds yet without having to stop to fix several hiccups like spent primers getting jammed between the shell plate and sub plate, shell plate not indexing all the way, primers not feeding, primers not seating all the way, tube falling out of bullet feeder die (spilling bullets everywhere), etc. I was actually faster with the Square Deal. I will say that the one time I called Hornady, I got right through to a friendly rep who promptly sent a replacement for a broken part (that was totally my fault). Calling Dillon always involved a long wait on hold and then a conversation with helpful, but usually less friendly, reps.

awesome. I'm sure they can get you squared away.

Sorry, no bikini chicks around here this time of year. Best I can do is a couple of crotch shots. But, ask and ye shall receive.

I use a Fury range series holster on a drop/offset mount for 3-gun. That sounds kind of like what you're looking for. http://www.furyholsters.com/Range-Order.html

Mean Gene makes the best belt I've ever had. Leather + ares aegis buckle. IMO, it's the perfect combination.

Any retailers near Knoxville selling primers?
LawVol replied to RAJBCPA's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Unless something's changed (I haven't been there in awhile), Guardian Armory over by the dollar theater sells them for reasonable prices. -
Dumb and Dumberer is the only movie I've ever walked out of. I was pretty close in Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector. I can't believe I used to have time to see movies like that in the theater.

I use a Fury Appendix series, but I wear it at 4 o'clock most often. I like that it's low profile, tuckable, and has adjustable ride height. Fury makes great stuff. www.furyholsters.com

My Griffin M4-SDII does a good job of flattening out muzzle rise while not being obnoxious

I had a membership there 5 or so years ago. The place is close by, and I had a Groupon. I sure hated shooting there when it was busy, though. The pock-marks in the walls behind the firing line were never reassuring.

1st TN (Knoxville city) speeding ticket...any advice/tips
LawVol replied to scinmyheart's topic in General Chat
just means as long as there's no further problems during the diversion period, the ticket goes away. He will pay court costs, though. {edit} useful info here: https://knoxcounty.org/gsjudges/traffic/index.php . Need to see if you're in Municipal or Sessions Court, though. -
If you're looking at the rubberized Talon grips, I'd suggest checking out Traction grips. Half the cost, appears to be the same material. I have them on my G43, and they are great. You can also buy three big strips of the same material on Amazon for about $6 if you don't mind trimming to fit.

The Pearce is no doubt the better value, but, to be fair, the pics in the first post show a Pearce +1 versus a TTI +2. The TTI +1 is barely bigger than the stock flush base plate. To me, that's what makes its worth having at least one TTI +1
-
that little lip on the Pearce extension drives me crazy, so I dremeled it off and covered up my hack job with Traction grips. I'm pretty happy with it for the price, but I will still probably get a couple TTI +1's. The TTI's are expensive, but it's amazing how little length the +1's add.
-
I agree with this. I wish I had spent that money on another mag or TTI baseplate.

I'm in. Red Sleigh Down is probably my favorite South Park episode of all time.

I like Colion Noir, too.

Talking to me about Progressive Presses
LawVol replied to CommsNBombs's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
When you're ready to move up, you'll get 100% of your money back on that Square Deal. I think it's a great choice to get up and running.
