  1. they seem pretty concerned about all those Tommy guns floatin' around.
  2. There's a guy on another site selling a lot of 10 new-in-wrapper M&P mags for $800.  This is where all the mags are going.
  3. at this point, your best bet is to get a free-float rail or tube.  There are several quality ones in the $150-$200 range.  Midwest Industries, Troy, or the aforementioned Rainier Evolution are a few.     Be careful about buying no-box rail systems at gun shows;  there are a lot of airsoft counterfeits out there that look real and even have logos and trademarks.
  4. arbitration agreements are a good way to avoid bad publicity; no complaints filed with the local court clerk.  Arbitration can be a more efficient way to resolve a dispute, but the agreements often specify a venue that is very inconvenient for the consumer.     Kudos to you for actually reading before signing.
  5. i think Fury Carry Solutions can make one for ya.  He's in Knoxville   http://www.furycarrysolutions.com/
  6. The California guns usually have "bullet buttons" to get around the detachable magazine part of the law, since it requires a tool, i.e. the tip of a bullet, to drop the mag.
  7. What kind of red dot is on the revolver?  Been thinking about putting a Fastfire on my 686.
  8. In Little v Eastgate of Jackson, LLC, the Tennessee Court of Appeals held:   "In sum, we agree with the trial court's recognition of a clearly-mandated public policy in favor of encouraging citizens to rescue others reasonably believed to be in imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm, and find that this public policy may be the basis for an exception to the at-will employment doctrine in Tennessee."   In Little, the employee was working at a beer store and saw a woman being assaulted across the street.  He grabbed a baseball bat and ran outside to help.  Note, however, that the baseball bat was kept under the counter at the store.
  9. I emailed Sen. Corker, Sen. Alexander, and Congressman Duncan the week following the CT shooting.  I received no response from the senators, but Jimmy Duncan did send a pretty long prepared response.  Even though his response was canned, it seems like he's on the same page as most of us.
  10. It was a good show if you need $40 pmags.     I bought primers and powder from David and got the heck out of there.   Public service announcement:   A Jacobs Building gun show is not a good place to be pushing a huge stroller.
  11. I bought the digital scale that EABCO sells for $30.  It's the same scale that some other companies re-brand and sell for $70+, and it has a 20 year warranty.     It has worked great so far.
  12. I'll second the SSA-E.     I never considered spending that much on a trigger until I tried someone's else's gun that had an SSA-E.  Money well spent.
  13. I'm loading 9mm with Berry's 124gr RN plated bullets from graf's, Win 231 powder and Tula primers from David. Mixed range brass. I started on a Dillon Square Deal B. I had no problem with it. I recommend you buy used, though. Otherwise, you're better off with a 550.
  14. Yes, there is such a thing as a "no win" situation, and they did their best to make sure that no one was going to win this one.
  15. J. Alexander's on West End is my go-to restaurant when I'm in Nashville.
  16. Hope you didn't get on that bus. One time I found an urban outdoorsman passed out behind behind my office with his pants around his ankles and an empty bottle of Walgreen's mouthwash beside him. Apparently, the stuff is about 60 proof.
  17. That's a helluva deal on the PSA rifle with an Aimpoint included. I also see that they'll put a midlength YHM rail and a lo-pro gas block on it for an extra $110. I believe that's what I'd go for if I was in the market.
  18. I was thinking about putting a burris fastfire or something of that ilk on mine. I'm really liking this guy's mounts, too: http://www.allchingunparts.com/details.php?prodId=62&category=2&secondary=&keywords=
  19. Don't worry too much about your practice ammo. Buy what's available and affordable. Like Jonnin, I tend to avoid Tula and other steel case stuff. I usually buy Winchester Supreme Elite PDX1 +P 124gr for carry and home defense. Wal-Mart carries it, and Winchester claims that the FBI is using it as their duty round. Speer Gold Dot is also highly thought of. The critical part in choosing a defensive round is to run a sufficient amount of your chosen ammo through your gun to make sure it functions reliably. I know it's hard to make yourself shoot a bunch of rounds that cost $1 each, but you really need to do it.
  20. To the OP: if you're still interested in tritium and can't find any sights that will fit, check out tooltech. They will install trijicon lamps in your factory sights. That's what I was going to do for my P7. It ain't cheap, though. I may have to try Dolomite's trick first.
  21. FWIW, I put a Choate 3-round extension on my old 20 gauge youth 870. It looks and works great. That'd get you to where you want to be.
  22. I stopped by at about 4:30 today. Parking lot was empty, save for the ServPro truck. A guy standing outside said they were closed but would be back open tomorrow. I figured they had a sewage leak or something, and didn't ask questions. Sorry to hear about what actually happened. The bullet holes in the concrete wall behind the shooting lanes always made me nervous about the indoor range.
  23. I had a guy in Knoxville make a holster for my Beretta with TICK rail and M3 light. It's really nice and works great. He is sometimes at the gun shows, but he has a website, too. [edit] not sure if I'm allowed to post his website. I don't think he's a TGO vendor.
  24. One thing I will say for Gander is that, unlike Academy, at least they'll take the trigger lock off of a gun you want to look at.
