  1. The range is about 15 miles outside of Fort Knox, I am up here now in the hotel and it is raining, and is supposed to all night. I think it is going to be a muddy mess tommrow but should be pretty Saturday. -Jason G
  2. Me and my group are headed up on Thursday and will be there through Saturday night. We must be to only ones going because I started the same thread and got no responses. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19407 -Jason G
  3. It could have been. The military was still using Browning 1919's which were .30-06 in the early 50's. -Jason G
  4. The black tip .30-06 is AP. Also the headstamp LC51 is Lake City produced in 1951. This is govt stuff. I dont know for sure about the TW53 headstamp but if its like most ammo the number is usually the year of production. -Jason G
  5. Its only evil if it holds more than 10 rounds. 11 rounds, oh how scary. -Jason G
  6. Just wondering if any of you guys are headed to Knob Creek for the machine gun shoot and show? Its going to be intresting to see the ammo situation up there and on the firing line. Im sure people will be spending money left and right. Hopefully the weather will be good, the Spring shoot is usually a mud fest. We will be going up on Thurs and comming home late Sat. night. Maybe we can put some names to faces if any of you guys are going to be there. -Jason G
  7. Guys this stuff is great for slaying bodies. -Jason G
  8. I really dont see why you want to blame the FFL? If a person comes in and picks out a gun and PASSES the background check how is the dealer supposed to know the guns are going to be sent to Mexico or any other country? There is no way for the FFL to know what any person buying a gun is going to do with it. We need to start holding the person who commits a crime accountable instead of passing on the blame to someone else. -Jason G

    My Kahr=crap

Hey i totally understand where you are comming from but these are weird times in the gun industry. Everyone is producing as many guns as they can for if/when Obama tries to go after them. Im sure Kahr is working as hard as they can to keep up with production and their repair work. In my opinion they have pretty good customer service and i think you will be happy when you get your gun back. My brother carries a CW40, my dad carries a PM45, and I carry a PM40 and we have never had any problems with them. I hope yours was just a little bur and somthing small and they get you squared away. -Jason G

You must not want your gun fixed, huh? -Jason G
  11. Any chance the hats could be the fitted "flex-fit" style. I like a fitted hat a lot better than the velcro or snap style. The flex fits come in sizes like small/medium and large/extra large. -Jason G
  12. My dad has a Ruger No.1 stainless varmit in .204. He topped it with a Leupold VX-3 6.5-20. It has VERY little recoil, even less then .223. We were shooting it out at the Stones River TWRA range and literally were hitting tacks at 200 yards. It is the most accurate rifle that I have shot. He just got a DPMS AR chambered in .204. We just got the barrel broken in and got glass put on it so we dont know how its going to shoot yet, but i think it will be another tack driver. I think the .204 is a great little round for varmits and target shooting, very fast too. -Jason G
  13. I dont think it can be explained any better then what Joe did. If you are serious about getting into NFA stuff you really need to go and talk to your local class 3 dealer. You can read on the internet until you are blue in the face but a lot of the info you find is not correct. Talk to someone who deals in NFA stuff eveyday and you will get good information. Even if it means making a trip up to Hero Gear. You are going to have at least $9000+ in a full auto AR style rifle, you dont want some guy who does one NFA item every 5 years in charge of your transfer and your investment. Go talk to a good dealer and save yourself alot of trouble. -Jason G
  14. Did you get any of their names? I guy I went to school with is a Hendersonville cop now, could have been him as he is fairly new there. I have always heard that Hendersonville had a bunch of ass hats working for them, and you have just proved it. You handled yourself better than I think I would have. -Jason G
  15. Theres a Cobray M11/9 over on sunbguns for $3000. It is in Michigan on a form 4 so you would have to pay two transfer taxes. Here is the link. http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/index.cgi?db=nfafirearms&website=&language=&session_key=&search_and_display_db_button=on&results_format=long&db_id=14923&query=retrieval -Jason G
  16. The Ruger is a great little gun to start out on, its what I learned to shoot on. I think the first things you should teach her is how to be safe when she is using a gun. I would then help her work on her breathing and trigger pull. If you help her get the fundamentals down the accuracy will follow. People shoot amazing groups with the bull barrel 10/22 so that might be an upgrade you might think about, also get a gun smith to lighten up and smooth out the trigger. But most of all keep it fun for her and not too serious. Keep her wanting to go to the range with Dad and she will be a great shot in no time. -Jason G
  17. Ask over at www.subguns.com on the NFA discussion board. If it has anything at all to do with a Thompson machine gun someone there will know. -Jason G
  18. Unless somthing drastic happens and there is a huge majority of gun loving politicians that get elected its going to be in place forever. It doesent have a "sunset" like the Clinton ban. Better start saving your pennies. Also guys go over to subguns.com and check out the NFA ad board and you will catch some deals over there. $3800 and $3900 seem kinda high for a M10 or M11. -Jason G
  19. Makers Mark gives you a sample and it is free. JD is dry though. -Jason G
  20. That sounds great. I went through the Miller factory this past summer and it was good. You saw the whole bottling process then they took you to a bar where you sit down and get some pretzels and a Miller Lite. Then you walk across the street to a outdoor bar/patio area where you get to choose 3 more beers from the Miller family. It was a very good tour and FREE beer. Nope but been to Jack Daniels many times and went to Makers Mark up in KY in Jan. 07. JD is more "touristy" than Makers Mark but both are great. -Jason G
  21. Dont be a little girl, with a knife like that you should be cutting threw old rusty metal with no problems. If you had a Benchmade you wouldnt have this problem. -Jason G
  22. My brother has done quite a few of his AR's in white and red and they turned out nice. The trick to it is to take your time removing the excess color from around the lettering, if you dont you will remove some from the letters. Just take your time and it will come out great. -Jason G
  23. If you dont undersand it or "get" it then why have you been reading about it all day? I dont understand why people look at somthing by their own free will then bitch about it being on here. Rant off.... -Jason G
  24. Anyone know where to find his book Me and My Likker? Ihave been looking for it for a while with no luck. I would like to find some of his dvd's. RIP Popcorn, he was just doing what he knew. -Jason G
  25. Again, dont let the door hit you on the way out. -Jason G
