Ive been watching shark week all week. I never really thought any thing about sharks being close to the beach, I knew they were there but just didnt think about them. Thats until I caught a black tip reef shark while I was surf fishing in Gulf Shores. Also when I was in Gulf Shores back in July were we amberjack fishing and a guy got an 80lb'er about 10ft from the surface when a 10-12ft tiger shark came up and bit that big amberjack in half in one bite. It was such a clean cut it looked like a surgen had cut it. They gots some sharp teeth. -Jason G

I looked at a Kodiak at Oshkosh at the Quest "booth" and it was awesome. It was just as I would order one. Brown leather interior with orange, black, and white paint. It was SWEET! One with floats would be even better. -Jason G

I agree that they need more staff, a lot more. But I dont think that BATFE as whole cares how long it takes. As bad as the economy is I cant see them spending more money just to speed up the process. This doesnt mean that we shouldnt try though.... -Jason G

When I first bought it I wanted to know if it would run. So the owner of the shop went in the back and brought out some old round lead nose hunting rounds that looked like they were from the 1970's. When it ran those without any problems I knew it was ok. Since then I have shot everything from hunting rounds to South African battle packs and it has run everything. -Jason G

The person who answers the phone can tell you who your examiner is if you are in the system. BTW there is no need to talk to an examiner unless your paperwork is taking longer than usual (like 7 or 8 months). All this does is take them away from actually doing thier job. Presently there are nine examiners 1) Andrew Ashton 2)Ted Clutter 3)Nicole Dudash 4)Nancy Flanigan 5)Jason Frushour 6)Albert Lamberger 7)William Shipman 8) Sandra Snook and 9)Barbara Payne. There are also two supervisors 1) Dawn Henson and 2) Rob Howard. When you add up all the forms (1,2,3,4,5,6,10, and 20) the current submission rate is over 1 million forms a year for 11 people. I know it could be better, but just think about this when you start to bitch about having to wait 4 months. Ted Clutter and Barbara Payne are good to go, I have delt with them on quite a few forms. William Shipman is never there, so if he is your examiner be ready to wait. -Jason G

It dosent take long to do the finger prints once yours comes up. Its the 100's or 1000's of other forms that are causing the back log. When it looked like Obama was going to win (a month before the election) everyone got scared and did their NFA paperwork. So ATF's work doubled or tripled overnight. We dont have nothing to complain about, ask some old time machine gun guys about how long the wait used to be. You didnt even call before a year had passed. If you just forget about it, it will show up in the mail before you know it. -Jason G
