    Sig 365 ?

David’s guest on the Shooters Nation podcast two weeks ago carries one and she really likes it. Her name was Avery Skipalis. She is a Navy and civilian firearms instructor and spoke highly of it.
  2. Yes, yes it is. (in todays f'ed up world)
  3. I used to keep a hacksaw in the truck just for cutting antlers. I would use them for rattling antlers or handles for tools or dog chew toys. Saw a nice 8 pt on the side of road on the way to my parents for Thanksgiving dinner. I go ooooh dead buck and my wife without missing a beat says "Don't even think about it".
  4. It is just the pic. It is not that dark.
  5. I have had good luck with Nikons and with that price it is hard to go wrong.
  6. Happy Thanksgiving to everybody at TGO
  7. Damn. That does not look like an easy to clear malfunction.
  8. That is going to be a nice little knife.
  9. My nephew got this yesterday morning.
  10. Let’s post our results from gun season in this thread. Had two does walk by a few minutes ago with a small buck trailing them. Decided to let him grow up some.
  11. No first hand experience. My nephews have used it and liked it but I have never shot it to compare felt recoil.
  12. You should also consider a .30-06. Remington makes a nice line of Managed Recoil ammo. The managed recoil .30-06 has less recoil than a .243 Scroll down this page some and check out the charts. https://www.remington.com/ammunition/centerfire-rifle/managed-recoil This would give you a lot of versatility for shooting 125 gr ammo to 180 gr.
  13. I prefer the Remington or Winchester. Tiger deer rifles just do not feel as good in the hand as the other. I would consider the .243 or .308. One thing to consider is in 15 years you and your son are out hunting and forget your ammo or run out. You go find a country store. What ammo do you think they will have on there shelf. There will always be 308 and probably 243. The 6.5s are popular now but what about in 15-20 years?
  14. You are both correct. The pointed tip was to help aerodynamics and the polymer tip was added so the could be used safely in lever guns. Pointed fmj have been know to set off other rounds in the tube when the tip of one hit the primer on another.
  15. I will. I have a 1966 SP1 that i wish was full auto.
  16. It is hard to beat 150 grain Remington Core-lokt for price and performance.
  17. That was my first thought as well
