  1. Nice. You do not see many 35 Whelen's anymore. To find a left handed one is a score.
  2. It is a sickness I tell ya. I have always had a thing for classic bolt action deer rifles, especially older wood stocked ones. I have more deer rifles than I can hunt with but that does not seem to matter when I comes across another. I am especially fond of older Sako rifles. I found a single owner Sako Finnbear in .338 Win Mag from 1967, my birth year, and just had to have it. It has definitely been used but is in good shape for being 55 years old. It also has a great looking wood stock. The fact that I did not have a .338 win mag currently just made the decision all the much easier. The gentleman, who lived in Coloardo at the time, ordered this from Herters in Minnesota. He paid a whopping $149 including tax and shipping. He actually kept the original hang tags and all the paperwork from when he bought the rifle. I did not realize that when I bought it so it was a cool surprise. The scope that is on it is a Herter's scope. It is not marked but I am guessing it is a fixed 6x. Anybody have any .338 win mag for sale?

  4. Most comments do count toward your post count. I believe there is one or two areas, like New Member Introductions, where they do not count. The idea is to be active in the main forum areas.

  6. Very nice. I have a Browning 71. 348 Winchester is a great round. Would love to pick up a Winchester 71 if I can ever find one for a decent price.
  7. They posted on the social media that they had gotten in some Exhibition Grade Circassian Walnut. You had to call to get prices. The exhibition grade was a $2200 upcharge. I politely declined and he told me that they also had a few pieces of collector grade. They are above the fancy wood but didn't quite make the cut for exhibition grade. The collector grade is $1400 extra. You do get credit for the $600 already spent for the fancy wood upgrade so the collector grade cost an extra $800. You do have to go ahead and pay for the wood because they do not get the higher grades in very often. Call your rep and ask if they have any more left. This is the exhibition grade...
  8. Funny. That is exactly what I ordered about 1.5 months ago except I then upgraded the wood again to the collector grade when it became available about 2 weeks ago. I am looking at 12-13 months for the build time. Can't wait till I get it.
  9. This is a fantastic deal for someone. If I didn’t have so many hunting rifles I would be all over this. If you need a classic deer rifle you will not be disappointed with this setup. GLWS

  11. In the afternoons were are going to chase hogs with dogs and finish them with spears. I will have my FK PSD as back up and my buddy will have my Glock 20 as his back up. The outfitter is supplying the rifles with night vision for the night time hunt. Not sure what that will be till I get there.
  12. That thought has crossed my mind. Of course it was all of your posts that planted the seed in my brain...So I do not think the trip will really be at fault...
  13. 0 yards for me. That will change for me next month. Going on a night time hog hunt in Texas in June.
  14. Greg already has tacticool one. He couldn't help himself and got one that was listed on the sight about a year ago. Post that pic back Greg. @TripleGGG
  15. I will let you know after I hear back from Scatman
