  1. My daughter and I went out and did a little plinking this weekend. Mostly we were shooting .22s. We did shoot my 329 a little. This is the scandium alloy frame 44mag. Very light weight. It was great to shoot with .44 specials. The recoil was very manageable. My 14 yo daughter and I had no problem getting 3" groups offhand at 25 feet. We then tried some .44 mag rounds. WOW. Talk about a hand cannon. The recoil was impressive. I felt it most in the web of my hand and wrist. The muzzle flip was quite intense and it put a lot of torque on the wrist. My daughter wanted to try one of the 44 mag rounds. Although she was a little scared she really wanted to shoot it. She didn't hit the target, I think here eyes were closed, but she did hold onto the gun. I was impressed. I was standing behind her just in case the pistol came flying back over here head. One shot was enough for her. All in all, we had a great time and threw a lot of lead down range.
  2. My 14yo daughter and I went out yesterday afternoon to do a little plinking. I took my M77 African in .375 Ruger because I have not shot it yet. I wasn't shooting for groups just to see what the recoil would be like. All I can say is Ouch! Why they would put a thin hard rubber recoil pad on a caliber that size is beyond me. I am going to have to find a better recoil pad for it. Maybe a Sims or something similar. Still, it was fun to shoot.
  3. They do have a great selection. It is a great place to hang out and browse. You can usually negotiate a fair price. You just have to know what a fair price is before you go in there.
  4. Thanks Tungsten. I just looked that up and that is exactly was I looking for. Thanks.
  5. How do you carry extra ammo? I carry a J-frame and currently do not carry any extra ammo. Speed loaders are to bulky to keep in my pockets and I do not want to carry loose ammo. Has anybody come up with a good way to carry extra ammo?
  6. TnDixieGirl, are you carrying when you snow or water ski? If you answer water skiing, then i am guessing ankle holster?
  7. Like most office buildings, all the suites in my building use a common restroom. The stall walls dont go all the way to the floor. So for major transactions I have to unclip my IWB and put it on top of the toilet paper holder. I have not forgotten it, at least not yet.
  8. Usually IWB strong side. If not there, its in the drink holder right by my right knee.

  10. I wonder if saintsfanbrian is going to get the psychological help he needs.
  11. Any wimp can carry around a 6 pack. It takes a real man like me to carry a keg!:D
  12. Congrats!
  13. Nancy, What 22 will you be carrying? If the ratshot doesn't deter them it would be nice to be able to put a couple of 22 slugs into them. If it were me, I would have the first two rounds ratshot and the rest regular .22s. Good luck. Hope you don't get bit again.
  14. Tell us who it is and i am sure people will share their experiences with them. Btw, welcome to TGO.
  15. I hope you left him the appropriate feedback.

  17. First off I am a big guy with a big gut. I have always used an IWB for carrying either one of my Kahrs or a J-frame. I have always carried just slightly in front of the mid point on my right hip with the gun canted forward. On most of my pants there is a belt loop right at the mid point of my side. The holster would sit right in front on the belt loop. This has always worked for me and been fairly comfortable. Today I put the holster just behind the mid point of my side. I was amazed at how much more comfortable it is to carry in this position. It feels better when I am standing, sitting, walking, driving...etc. Don't know why it took me so long to try this. Just wondering where everybody else carrys on their body.
  18. Thank You! You guys and gals rock!
  19. Stop by in the afternoons and see if anybody is there. Even if MIke isn't there any members who may be using the range could probably get you the info you need. Mike Ridings also hosts Tennessee Sportsman Radio Saturday mornings from 6-8am on 106.7 The Fan. You may be able to contact him thru his show also. http://www.tennesseesportsmanradio.com/
  20. Cadillacdude, If I am reading the law correctly, the ghost buster sign is not legal by itself. The law states that it can be used in addition to the sign "pursuant to ...." The phrase "In addition to the sign," means you can use the ghost buster with the sign, not instead of the sign. At least thats what I always understood. Could be wrong. Does anybody else have an opinion on this?
  21. Here is a pic of my wife and I at my 40th b-day party a couple of months ago.
