TWRA is very clear about the rules of hunting. You are absolutely NOT allowed to hunt from a vehicle. Therefore driving to and from your hunting spot is not incident to hunting. It says in the hunting regulations that you can not have a loaded long gun in your vehicle. That means you can not use hunting as a defense to violating 39-17-1308. If a TWRA officer catches you with a loaded long gun in your vehicle, they will confiscate it and write you a citation. Hope this helps.

I am a sucker for deer rifles. I have found a pretty good deal on a Remington 742 in 280 Rem. I have always wanted one of the semi-auto remingtons. Why you ask? Because I do not have one. I have also wanted a 280 for the same reason. It looks like the 139gr 280 flies faster, flatter and hits harder than the 270 and almost matches the 150gr 30-06 load. Would love to hear some feedback from anyone who has any experience with either this gun or cartridge.

He really doesn't shoot it enough. Two boxes would last him quite a while. He just doesn't want to pay $100-150 bucks for 2 boxes. The main purpose of this gun is as a deer gun for his 8yo.

My cousin has a .222 rem mag and is having a hard time finding ammo for it. Anybody know of a good source where we can find it for less than $50 per box? Thanks.
