Good gravy was it cold this morning. My nipples are still hard. Hadn't seen or heard anything until 7:30 when this doe comes running in. She stops about 10 yards from my stand. I hear a crunch crunch and see this buck trailing her. He was about 60 yards away and only offered a shot at his chest. As soon as the doe stopped staring at me, I swung on the buck and boom. He is a typical 8 with a 1.5" sticker off the back of his right brow tine. Anybody else have any luck?

It is usually about 5-7 degrees colder where I hunt than the forecast. So I am guessing it is going be mid to low teens saturday morning. Saw a 8 point trailing a doe yesterday. I am getting excited.

I am considering getting a big bore upper. Does anybody here have any experience with either of these two? What are the pros and cons of both. Thanks.

I figured it was something like that. I am strong believer in the phrase you get what you pay for. It has taken me a long to realize that sometimes it is "cheaper" to buy the higher quality more expensive item. Thanks

The only experience I have with ARs is with my .308 Bushmaster. I have been wanting to get a .223/5.56. My question is this...What is the difference in the 5.56 ammo I have seen for sale. Example - ammoman.com sells 1000rounds of russian for $269 shipped but Federal XM 193 sells for about $100 more. What is the difference in the ammos? Is the russian stuff crap or the Federal just that much better? Thanks for the help.

My daughter and I were driving through Percy Warner park this afternoon. I spotted this buck bedded down in a grown up field. He was about 100 yards away and didn't have a care in the world. i got out of the truck and took several pics. He never got up. To bad you can't hunt in the park.
