  1. That is definitely a Coopers Hawk. Most people think of large Redtails when they here the word hawk. The Coopers Hawk are small, fast, agile and a lot of fun to watch hunt. You were lucky to have one living right outside your house.
  2. I love this quote from there website... "There won’t be any permanent damage inflicted to your wrist." There is going to be damage, it just will not be permanent.
  3. John Wall showed me that it unscrewed. I tried everything but unscrewing it to get it out. Thanks.
  4. That's some pretty big talk. Hope they can back it up.

    Depressed

That ain't right. Funny, but ain't right.
  6. Thats great news. i am glad they took care of you.
  7. Thats the first I have heard of a Kahr going off when dropped. I guess it is possible but I will surprised if there is not more to the story.
  8. What a crappy thing to have happen...

  10. Just checked PSE website. They claim 412 fps which is still crazy fast. They are currently taking preorders. It doesn't say when they will be ready. Now for the price: $1299 (that is for the upper only; no scope or lower)
  11. Most crossbows you are looking at hunting distances of 50 yards and under. If I am not mistaken, the fastest crossbows are in the 340-350 fps. 420 fps is crazy fast for a crossbow. I wonder how heavy that setup is?

    338 win mag?

Can't go wrong with the 375 H&H. It's a classic. You should also keep your eye open for a deal on a Ruger M77 African in 375 Ruger. It is another great rifle.
  13. Does anybody have any .358 winchester in stock? Thanks
  14. For you guys that don't know TGO member John Wall, he is a great guy. I took the rifle to him to inspect. First thing he did was drop a 8mm bullet in the bore. It fell right thru. Then he broke out the head space gauges to determine the caliber. And sure enough it is 358. He checked over the rifle for me and said it was in very good condition. Now I just have to find some ammo and get out and shoot it. Thanks John.
  15. Model 1905-FN First Variation - no slide lock/safety lever. Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60% $575 $475 $375 $325 $275 $225 $175 Add 50% for factory nickel finish (nickel finish with blue trigger and blue safety lever) - if 95% condition or better. Add $500 for factory presentation case. Add $750 for Imperial Russian contract (crossed rifles marking on blue or nickel guns).
  16. I did recover the bullet. It went in a fairly steep angle about 4 " behind the front shoulder. The bullet punched thru a rib and opened up and created a rather large wound cavity. It squeezed between the bottom of the ribs on the other side and stopped just under the skin. I didn't have any way to weigh it but it looked like it was all there. Here is the interesting part. The deer ran about 40 yards and died. I process my own deer. When I started skinning the deer, I found more blood than i have ever found. There was a tremendous amount of blood between the skin and ribs on both sides. Pretty good performance in my opinion.
  17. The receiver is marked: ZBROJOVKA BRNO Then on the side it is stamped E 22 I tried to chamber a couple of different rounds. The bolt would close on a 308. It would not close on a 270 or 30-06. Also, I took a 340 Weatherby mag and put it in the end of the barrel bullet first. The 340 bullet still had wiggle room when inserted.
  18. I have used them in my Kimber and they has fed great. It is also very accurate. I used it to take a doe at 15 yards.
  19. Bought this kind of on impulse. I saw it and thought it was cool so I bought it. This is my first rifle of this style. They guy said it is a BRNO mauser that was re-barreled to 358. I know nothing about these rifles. I can't even figure out how to get the cleaning rod out. I know a lot you guys have knowledge about these rifles. Anything you can tell me about this rifle, like how to get the cleaning rod out, approx age, history, would be appreciated.
