    Ruger .22 Mark II

Gator, You made the classic rookie mistake...you disassembled it They are definitely a pain in the ass to reassemble. I hardly ever break my down anymore. I shoot a little gun scrubber down in the action to get any crud out and then spray it with a little clp and put her up. Unless you are having problems, there really is no need to break it down to clean it. They are great guns. Have fun with yours.
  2. Great video. Pretty impressive shooting at 25 yards. When it comes in, we need to go shooting. We can compare the R9 and PM9 side by side.
  3. oooooooohhhh!!! That's purdy!!! Very nice looking pistol.
  4. Here is one that I have been using for a while. It technically is a duck marinade but I use it on venison, specifically venison medallions. 2 cups dry red wine 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup balsamic or red wine vinegar 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1 medium onion, diced 6 garlic cloves, minced 1 tablespoon cracked black pepper Combine all the ingredients and marinade for a couple of hours to overnight. Yummy!!
  5. It says that I have an unread private message but I do not. Is there a way to fix my notification system so that it is correct. Not a big deal. Whenever anybody has time to help I would appreciate it. Thanks BIll, Jr
  6. You aren't kidding. Those Black Cherry Magic grips are sexy. They would look good on my Kimber.
  7. I am confused. How are you getting gunk in the action. Everything should be sealed off from the action. HAve you checked your breech plug to see if there is any damage to the threads? You shouldn't have any blowback on a muzzleloader. The 209 primer should seal off the nipple and the breech plug should seal everything else off. So if you are getting gunk back in the action, I would guess that it is coming from one of those two places. Anybody else have any thoughts? PS - Not sure if the my Encore breech plug will fit in your ml, but you are welcome to borrow it to see if that makes any difference.
  8. Those Ap would be fun to play with. I wonder how thick of steel they would go through. Do some testing and let us know.
  9. Nice looking rifle. I always loved the Mdl 100. Since this is a hunting rifle and not a target rifle, 2 boxes of ammo would last you for years. Bite the bullet, buy two boxes and be done with it. If you plan on shooting it from a bench, then what Froggy said.

    Pandora

Pandora is great. I use it at work all the time.
  11. Yes...thats weird
  12. At one time I had a "specialized" turkey gun that was only used for turkey hunting. I decided that that money could be better used is a gun that saw more action than a couple of times a year. I now use my all purpose 20ga Benelli M2. Now I just just change chokes instead of guns depending on what I am hunting. How about the rest of you. Do you throw a full choke on your dove gun or what? Also what gauge do you use for turkey hunting?
  13. Nothing better for a quick clean. I have them in all calibers.
  14. Somebody has been watching to much Man vs Wild...
  15. I was using Federal Match Ammo.
  16. With Swifts warranty you should be able to take the scope back to FGS and they should give you a new one.
  17. I picked up a Remington VTR in 308 off gunbroker a couple of weeks ago. It came with a Leupold VXII 3-9X50. It has the German #4 reticle. It is an ok reticle for hunting but not a great one for precision shooting. I fired a couple of shots to make sure the scope was on. The thick posts of the reticle covered a lot of the target. I was still able to shoot a couple of decent groups. The first one was right at an inch and the second group was right at 3/4 of an inch. I think with a different scope and more solid bench I might be able to shrink those groups a little. Overall I am very pleased with my new rifle.
  18. I want some of those inferno bullets....
  19. I don't if the Pro Hunter is worth that much extra. I know they have a new stock that is supposed to reduce recoil. I put a Limbsaver on my regular butt stock and it works great. Having the ability to switch barrels is a definite plus. I have had the following barrels: .243, 30-30, 45lc/410, 454 casuall, 12ga(don't recommend), 209x45. There is a good market for used encore barrels.
  20. I have two encores and absolutely love them. Mine is set up with a 209x45 bp barrel. The other has a youth butt stock and .243 barrel. The 243 is what my daughter used to take her first deer. THe reason I have 2 encore frames is I like leaving the one set up as a youth rifle. This past season my cousins son used it to take his first deer. I have always been a big TC fan. They are well made, accurate firearms.
  21. That looks really good. I just might have a new project in my future.
  22. Betobeto, I feel for ya man. I used to be a poor to fair tipper. That was until I got a second job delivering pizza. A little different situation from yours but not a lot. I worked hard to get people their food to them hot and fresh. Nothing is more frustrating than delivering someone $40 worth of pizza and not getting a tip. Or delivering pizza to section 8 housing and seeing the peoples big screen tv and not getting a tip. Or delivering in the pouring rain or snow and...well you get the picture. I definitely tip a lot better now.
  23. At first I thought it was just another pro Obama sticker till I looked at it a littel closer. It said: OBAMA __________________ Carter's Second Term
