  1. Magic, If you are serious about getting a 50 then join Fifty Caliber Shooters Association. Fifty Caliber Shooters Association That's what I did before I got my fifty. There are a lot of great members there that will help you with your first purchase. It cost about $40 a year but is well worth it for the info you can get.
  2. I agree with Dave on this one. If they were really worried about something being easier to conceal and more accurate then they would just outright ban it. Instead of banning them they just make you pay more to own one. Seems like it is just about the money.
  3. Welcome. I do a lot of hunting just outside of Fairview.
  4. SW 638 in my back pocket at the moment.
  5. Saw 2 large bucks chasing does yesterday. The does were having none of it but the bucks were sure fired up.
  6. It's a tragedy that could have been prevented if the hunter had not been an idiot.
  7. Have not seen any signs near me yet. I live close to Percy and Edwin Warner Parks. I watch those deer for signs. Right now the bucks are still running together.
  8. I would go with the vx3 just because I do not like AO's on my hunting rifles.
  9. Congrats!!!!
  10. Sorry about that. Since that thread is closed, would you mind adding Jonathans to the list. Thanks
  11. The last minute or two of the show was great. The way he delivered that line and the look on her face was great.
  12. Very cool. I live about 2 minutes from there. I will try to stop by.
  13. Very cool!!! Congrats!

    Kahr Question

    +1
  15. Saigas are plenty accurate for deer hunting. One thing to remember is that you can not hunt with fmj's. Don't mix up up your target rounds with your hunting rounds.
  16. Yes! I am not the only one who mixes Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Coke with Jim Beam. I enjoy sipping bourbon but every now and then you can't beat a nice Beam and Diet Dr Pepper.

    KAHR P45

I carried a P45 for a year or so. Very light weight and easy to carry. It was very controllable and accurate. The PM series are not the best for extended range sessions bit I never had that problem with the P45.
  18. Very nice. Looking forward to a range report.
  19. As a HCP holder I do not like it when anywhere posts. It does not matter if it is a "safe" place or not. It is another place telling me I can not carry. Now here is my real problem with them posting. Look at it from the antis side. I can here them making this argument... Well hell, if the police don't trust hcp holders then why should we. If they have to post their office, why shouldn't all business be posted?
  20. You rock Fallguy. Thanks for the clarification. I am really glad I was wrong. Sounds like they actually got the law the way it should be. To everybody else, sorry for the confusion.
  21. From the TWRA Hunting Guide
  22. First off let me say that we may need some further clarification. I believe that the TWRA regulations have final say on what is and is not legal during hunting seasons. The TWRA opposed the carry in parks law just for this reason. They have no way of knowing if the person with a firearm is hiking or hunting illegally. I think they made a compromise in the bill that gave the TWRA authority over what is carried where during hunting seasons. I will try to research this a little further.
  23. Ohio is correct. Your pistol mush have at least a 4" barrel for you to carry it with you deer hunting. Also, you can only carry it during gun season, not during archery or muzzleloader seasons. Having a hcp makes no different on this. You are only allowed to carry weapons specified by the TWRA when hunting. Doesn't matter if you are carrying your pistol for self defense only. It still must meet the minimum requirements set forth by the TWRA to have it on your person when hunting. You also do not need a hcp to carry a pistol when hunting. Just make sure it is unloaded when you are transporting it to and from your hunting location.
