  1. Family friends and football tomorrow. Deer hunting the rest of the holiday.
  2. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will burn a cd today and try it out tonight. I did check that. My wife is not very computer literate so that was one of the first things I checked. Hadn't thought about a stuck key. Will check that out tonight.
  3. No. More of a post-op tranny.
  4. My wife has a laptop running Vista. The computer is not accepting her password. She has tried all her old passwords and can not get any to work. How do we get into her computer? Any suggestions?
  5. The kids and I used to love driving thru the local parks at night with a spotlight to see deer and other animals. A metro park ranger asked us to stop one night. He told us that even if you are not hunting, they consider it wildlife harassment. He said he didn't mind but if a twra agent caught us that we would be fined. This was about 10 years ago.

    Bow buck

    Nice Buck! Congrats!
  7. Here is the link to the pdf of anterless hunts http://www.state.tn.us/twra/pdfs/nonquotadeerlimits.pdf Here is the link to the twra webpage about deer seasons http://www.state.tn.us/twra/deerseasons.html Scroll down and read the section named Special Season Quota Hunts Eliminated The last sentence is the important one... It sucks the game warden gave you bad info. I would have taken his word also. Hope your friend doesn't get in trouble.
  8. If you consider a lever action, look at a Marlin 1895 in 45-70. That is a great setup for deer and hogs in this part of the country. My second choice would be for a bolt action 30-06.
  9. They are uncommon but well documented. That is why we have antlered or anterless tags, not buck and doe tags. Here is a pic of a 10pt doe We used to have buck and doe tags. You even had to make sure the genitals were still attached when you checked in a buck. Enough people checked in antlered does over the years so they changed the tags to with antlers and without antlers.
  10. I think one of two things were going on here. 1) The buck had some sort of hormone imbalance. 2) It was an antlered doe.
  11. My daughter and her friend have been in line for a couple of hours for the midnight show tonight. I will wait for the crowds to die down before I go see it.
  12. You are good to go. As long as you have your hcp, you can carry your sd gun with you while hunting. As adam and wd pointed out, as long as your pistol barrel is at least 4", you can hunt with it. While shooting a deer with a 38 is legal, it is not a caliber I would ever use to shoot a deer.
  13. I remember a young girl taking a big buck last year during the juvenile hunt but have not heard anything from this year.
  14. My trusty ole 45-70 is ready and waitling...
  15. Congrats! How did her tarsal glans look? Starting to get dark and oily?
  16. The bucks around here are starting to birddog the does. My cousin and I have seen several bucks starting to chase does. I have not seen any does that looked like they were ready though.
  17. He is going to get somebody killed.
  18. I have had the exact opposite problem. The last three deer I shot with the polymer tipped powerbelts were complete pass thrus. Only one of the three had any expansion. I was using 100gr of 777 with a 195gr powerbelt. All three shots were 40-50 yards. The first two punched right thru without any expansion. Both of these deer ran a good bit and did not bleed much. The third expanded like it was supposed to and left a golf ball size hole coming out. He didn't run very far. It seems to me that muzzle loading bullets are not as consistent at expanding as modern centerfire ammo.
