  1. I moved my daughter into her dorm yesterday for her first year of college. It is going to be weird not having my hunting/fishing/shooting buddy around. This will be the first time in almost 19 years that she we will be away from home for more than a couple of days. Not sure how I feel about that yet. Anybody else ship off their kids to college?
  2. Both of those suggestions sound great. I will definitely try them both. Thanks
  3. My son wanted some venison steaks for dinner the other night. I pulled out an old marinade recipe that I had not used in a couple of years. I forgot how good it is. It is actually a duck marinade but works well with all wild game. I usually let the meat marinade for 24-48 hours. it really makes the meat tender and gives it great flavor. All Purpose Marinade 2 cups red wine 1/2 cup Balsamic Vinegar 1/2 cup Soy Sauce 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil 1 onion chopped 2-4 garlic cloves chopped 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper If you want to get fancy, try this. Reserve some of the marinade. While the meat is cooking, simmer the marinade and let it reduce by half. It will thicken slightly and intensify the flavor. Drizzle this over the meat.
  4. THis is the first scout scope that I have had. I really like it. It is very natural when I shoulder the gun. Very fast acquisition. I use the levergun in thicker woods still hunting where quicker shots are required. The scout scope mount with a 2x works really well for me. Let me know if you are ever up in the Brentwood area. You are more than welcome to check out my set up to see if you like it.
  5. Search for Posted! in the app store. Full name is: Posted! - Carry List Anti-Gun Locations
  6. Nice Kit. I never got one when I had my ar-50. That should make it a lot easier to maintain your rifle.
  7. Hope you find one. I have always been a bolt gun guy. I love the classic bolt gun deer rifle. I have not hunted with a bolt gun since I got the 1895 4 or 5 years ago.
  8. I absolutely love my 1895 in 45-70. It is a great deer gun for around here in the woods. The recoil does not bother me and it hits hard. Here is a pic of my 1895. The barrel has been shortened to 16" and has a 2x Leupold scope mounted up front.
  9. I won a rabbit in kindergarden. Now my wife won a $1000 in a contest when she was a travel agent. It was a secret shopper type contest. Carnival Cruise lines would send someone to a travel agent and say I have this budget and want to go on a vacation, what do you recommend. If the agent suggested a cruise with carnival and sold it well, the secret shopper would give the agent $1000 on the spot.
  10. There is nothing better that spending the day fishing with your kids.
  11. I love to dive. I got certified through NASDS like DaddyO. I did a lot of diving in the 80's and got my Expert dive cert. Those are some great pics, DaddyO. I love diving Grand Cayman. The North Wall was a great dive. I think my favorite dive was a night dive in George Town harbor. Lot of phosphorus in the water. Very cool.
  12. What all is going there? Are they going to have a vendor show?
  13. Old Brownings are extremely collectable. Especially the ones in your configuration. I would strongly suggest you not modify it for two reasons. One it kills the value. Two you are changing a piece of history that can't be reclaimed. If you like old Brownings, I would recommend buying this book: Browning Auto-5 Shotguns The Belgian FN Production by H.M. Shirley, Jr & Anthony Vanderlinden This is the go to book for info on a5s. You have a special shotgun. I hope you keep it in its original state.
  14. Went to the duck blind drawing at Cheatham WMA on Saturday. There was about 840 people drawing for 20-25 blinds. I was not one of the lucky ones. Were there any other TGOers out there?
  15. This is pretty cool. A gun that shoots salt and kills flies.
  16. No. That would be bad form in my opinion. I have followed people out of a store and offered money but never when they are dealing with the shop.
  17. I have had a beard for about 13 years. I have a mixture of colors, red, white gray...
  18. That is one hell of a brow tine!
  19. Love playing golf. Have started playing more since my nephew picked up the game. I still suck though.

Quit sugar coating your opinion and tell is what you really think.
  21. Very cool. There is nothing like fishing a river early in the morning with fog still laying over the water.
