    TISAS 1911-A1

Anybody familiar with this brand?  It is a Turkish made 1911.  Buds is selling them at 399 right now.  They have good reviews on Buds site.  Was hoping someone here had some real life experience with one.   http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_1225/products_id/411552921/TISAS+Classic+1911-A1+45ACP+5%22+GI+BLACK
  12. They had a booth at the NWTF show in Nashville a couple of weeks ago.  I started a thread about it in Hunting/Fishing section.  They were selling them for $99 at the show.  They several attached to rifle scopes, spotting scopes and binoculars that you could play with.  It is really pretty cool.  It is the best adapter for the iphone that I have used.
  13. We have this young lady that works for us whose husband is deployed in Afghanistan. A couple of months before Christmas she let us know that she was putting together a couple of boxes of supplies for her husbands unit for Christmas. She gave everybody a list of common items they needed and asked us to donate if we were able. It was everyday stuff we take for granted like: batteries, magazines, energy bars, jerky, playing cards, juice boxes, gum, games etc... Most of the employees donated. My father, brother and I went to Costco and got a bunch of stuff. She was really surprised at the amount of items everybody in company collected. It took a few more boxes than she expected but she got everything shipped over to husbands unit. Her husband let us know how appreciative the unit was after they received the boxes. Well today at our company lunch she presented us with this flag and certificate her husbands unit sent us. I am going to get it framed and hang it in the office.
  14. Very cool.  What kind of metal detector are you using?
  15. I forgot to post pics of the solar charger I got so here they are...
  16. Graycrait,   My dad and I have done a lot of fishing out of a canoe with an out board and a trolling motor.  We have a Coleman Scanoe.  We would only use the 3.5hp outboard when were fishing either a fast moving river or covering large areas like lakes or backwaters of the TN river.  The added weight of an outboard makes it very important to watch your weight distribution.  The added weight really changes the way the canoe handles.     We mainly used the trolling motor if we wanted powered assistance.  Even with having to charge the battery, it was less hassle using the trolling motor than the outboard.     What kind of waters are you mainly going to be fishing?
  17. It was nice meeting you Neil.  It is not exactly cheap but it would be pretty useful, especially for solo hunts.   I think it would make using a spotting scope a lot easier.
