1. I saw two really nice bucks this morning in an area I rarely see bucks.  Hope that is a good sign of things to come.
2. I was hunting down in Alabama a couple of years ago on a Sunday during the playoffs.  My buddy and I had been watching football, drinking beer and eating hot wings Saturday night.  Well I had not been hunting long before nature called.  With the beer and hot wings, lets just say it was not pleasant.  I had no sooner pulled my pants up when a buck comes running in snorting and grunting up a storm.  i guess he was looking for the other "buck" he had heard grunting.  I dropped him with a quick shot before I had even buckled my pants.
3. Thanks for the replies.  Guess I will be waiting a little longer before I paint.
4. Put up new front porch railings about two months ago.  I have heard that you have to let pressure treated wood sit for a while before you paint it or the paint will not last long.  Any tips on how to prep the wood, what paint to use, etc. would be helpful.   Thanks
5. Check out D M Bullard. They make some real nice holsters. I will also second what StPatrick said. The Houge feels great on the grip.
6. Can't win if you don't play
7. Just a reminder, the entry deadline is July 24.  It's free to enter if you have a sportsman license, not sure otherwise.   You can enter through the website or mobile app.  Here is a link to the website:   https://www.tn.wildlifelicense.com/index.php   Good luck.
8. Picked up another Kahr PM9 the other week and have been waiting on a holster. Well it came in today. Member Red Dirt turned me on the the D M Bullard Dual Carry. It is a great holster. Not that the kahr is heavy but you really just almost forget your carrying when using this holster. I really like it. Thanks for the suggestion Red Dirt. 9.   Very well said Caster except I use the more manly caliber of 45-70. :D
10. I am not saying take an intentionally poor shot.  As they say, sh*t happens.  The deer takes a step or you flinch or you deflect off a branch you didn't see...  There are lots of reasons, most beyond the hunters control, that can cause the bullet to impact somewhere other than where it was supposed to.  Having a larger caliber just gives you more margin of error.
11. The 223 if fine for perfectly placed shots.  The problem is you do not always have a perfect broadside shot.  In my opinion, the 223 is to small for the less than perfect shots. I want a little more power for shots that are not just punching through lungs.    Our jobs as hunters are to ethically take animals.  I would rather see a hunter use something more than the minimum required to give them a little leeway.  Of course this is my opinion and you know what they say about opinions...
12. It was not obvious from the pics in the first link but it actually straps to your forearm.  Watch the video in the second link.  It would make it easier to shoot but looks a little awkward.
13. On my safe...
14. Make sure you pst some pics up when it is finished.
15. Here is a good song from Stephen Lynch about tattoos.  Warning - It has a few bad words.  It starts out slow but is worth a listen.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwFVhNqN9Jg

Custom job that showed up at a German "Shot" show. Here is the article: http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/lateral-line/2013/07/oooh-barra-barracuda?cmpid=enews071013&spPodID=020&spMailingID=5569161&spUserID=MTMxMDkzMzAwODgS1&spJobID=325044394&spReportId=MzI1MDQ0Mzk0S0
17. Expert certified in NASDS.  Learned while I was in Texas in college.  Diving is one of my favorite recreational pastimes.
18. I tended to still hunt a lot more when hunting with a pistol.  I guess because the effective range is smaller for a pistol I felt that I needed to cover more territory.
19. I have hunted with several types of pistols.  My favorites being a contender in 30-30 and Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 mag.  In both cases I used a Leupold 2x scope.  Seemed to work well for me.  I also used a walking stick with a v notch at the top.  I carried both in a bandoleer holster across my chest.  I loved being able to walk thru the woods with my hand free.
20. From Andrews twitter feed:   #ZIMMERMAN TRIAL BLOCKBUSTER — TRANSCRIPT — "Black guy in black hoodie on top punching down MMA-style" http://is.gd/1UFCQU        Sounds like prosecution witness Good testified to exactly what zimmerman said happened.  After cross examination, the prosecutor had to try to discredit his own witness.  This is the third witness for the prosecution that the prosecutor had to try to discredit because their story supported Zimmermans version of events.
21. My advice, don't.  CA has some crazy laws that you could violate unintentionally.  I know of one lgs that will not ship to CA.  To much of a headache.   Surely you can find someone else to sell this gun to...
22. Nice bass.  I love the look of that bait.
23. I used Bellevue mall parking lot for both of my kids.  The back side where Sears is is the best because it is not roped off.  I even used that parking lot when it snowed or iced up just to get them used to how a car would react.
