This will be really useful when you can check in your deer and other big game.  The mobile web site is ok but check in needs to be done on an app.

My cousin got this fat doe this morning. Life decided I couldn't hunt this weekend. Maybe I can sneak away from work early on Monday.

It looks like we might be having some rain Saturday morning here in middle TN.  Hopefully it will not be to wet.  If the weather is bad, I think I will start out with my Browning BAR in 30-06.  I don't like taking my 1895 out in the rain.  It is harder to make sure everything is dry on it.

Not long after I made the last post we had a buck come in. Nice old 8 point. Short tines but very wide. Unfortunately Caitlin got a case of buck fever and missed. I reloaded and then realized I had left my 209 primers in the truck. I guess the old deer gets to live to see another day.

Have my daughter with me this morning and we have seen 5 does and one buck. No shots yet. The wind has been swirling this morning. A three of the does caught our scent. The other two does spotted us and didn't present a shot. The buck had his nose to the ground and was moving fast. This all happened from about 6:20 till 7:20. Been quiet since then.

Does anybody know of good caribbean style restaurants in middle Tennessee?     One of my favorites is Jamaicaway at the Farmers Market.  I had them cater a company lunch today.  Spicy Jerk Chicken, Mango Chutney Chicken, Rice-n-peas, pineappled sweet potatoes…man that was a good lunch.  They also make an excellent curried goat.   Anybody else have a favorite caribbean place they eat?

I have always boiled the head.  If you do, make sure you wrap the bottoms of the antlers with aluminum foil so they do not get discolored.     My wife would not let me do this in the house or use any of her pans.  I went to Goodwill and found a pot for $5.  I used my turkey fryer base and the goodwill pot and did it on the patio.  Worked great.
