Is it difficult to hunt with an AR pistol? (300 blackout)
KahrMan replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Long Guns
I have found that the easiest was to hunt with a large pistol is to use a walking stick with a v notch at the top. Really helps holding the pistol steady for a shot. Thats what I used when I used to hunt with a TC Contender. -
Late to the game again

The 43 is the latest, and most anticipated gun in a long line of low-capacity 9mms. With the introduction of the G43, two wondrous things happened concerning Glock. This is one of the first pistols developed almost exclusively to satisfy US market demands/screams of passion. The G43 introduction also coincides with Glock US giving writers a peek behind its factory doors for the first time ever… and I was invited. The first week of March, I found myself in the midst of ten other writers invited to this exclusive Glock G43 unveiling plus a behind the scenes factory tour, which I must admit was more exciting to me than the “finally” introduction the new G43. For me, being one of the first editors in the world to step behind the previously closed factory doors for a tour was a legitimate and exciting reason to hop on a plane to Smyrna, Georgia. My take on what I saw behind those doors is another article altogether, but I am sure everyone is more interested in the G43 at this point.

From a Gunsamerica article: This is not a conjecture or speculation article, the G43 is here and I have shot it at Glock. After pushing around 150 rounds through the G43 9mm I am in love with yet another ugly Glock. There is more, this G43 single stack 9mm is exactly what “we” the public asked for, begged for, and whined about when the G42 .380 ACP was introduced last year. Everyone said that they would buy a single stack Glock 9mm if it was about the same size at the G42, well prepare to pull out your cash and to fall in love with yet another boringly reliable Glock.

I've been using it for years. Everybody else is copying me. (At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it)

Caldo de Res is basically a Mexican beef soup and it is delicious. There are a ton of Mexican restaurants around but very few that do real, authentic mexican food. In my opinion, one of the best is Fogatas. They are located by Lowes at the corner of Old Hickory Blvd. and Nolensville Pike in Nashville. I always thought it was just like every other Mexican restaurant until a friend told me that all his non english speaking Hispanic friends ate there. I tried it out and it is not like your typical Mexican restaurant. The manager is very friendly and sat with me the first time I ate there. He sources his food from Mexico, not Sysco. Everything is hand made, nothing prepackaged. He uses a white corn that he has grown in Mexico to make his fresh corn tortillas. They have a very extensive menu plus daily specials. They also have a fruit bar where they make their own fruit waters and fruit "shakes"(they do not use ice cream). Back to Caldo de Res. It is only offered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday(if they do not run out). It is a flavorful broth with beef on the bone, ear of corn, potatoes, carrots, green beans and cabbage. They also bring you a bowl with raw chopped onion, jalapeño and cilantro. Add as much of that as you want and the hot broth softens the onion and jalapeño, Squeeze some lime over it and your are ready for some fantastic soup. Nice. Just finished off my Blantons the other night. Has anybody noticed how much Blanton is showing up in TV shows? I have seen it in several lately. That bottle is hard to miss.

Thanks guys. I think I am going to try the wd-40 and air compressor before disassembling the bolt. I have a habit of losing little parts.

I have a 1971 Browning BBR. It the predecessor to the A-bolt. I want to disassemble, inspect and clean the bolt. Here is why. Before deer season I sighted it in with no issues. First time I am hunting with it I go to shoot a deer and click, nothing happens. As I take my face off of the stock to see if the safety is on it goes boom. Scared the hell out of me, and the deer that was standing in the field. So I chamber another round, aim at the ground and pull the trigger. This time there is a slight hesitation and boom. Chamber another round and this time it fires like it is supposed to. It was almost like something was binding the firing pin and worked itself free. Now I want to make sure there is not any burrs or debris that could cause the same issue. So my question is, how do I disassemble the bolt? Thanks

I am thinking about taking the belt clip off of mine. What are they rest of you doing, leaving it on or taking it off?
-
LOL - It gets carried everyday in the same pocket as my car keys so it gets banged up a little. Don't worry though, I do have another 101 that is in pristine condition.

Like Hipower said these are smaller than I was expecting. These are going to feel like I am not carrying anything after carrying the LG101 since I got it. I really like both of the blades. These really exceed my expectations. Thanks Willis!
