  1. I agree that he was probably just trying to intimidate her. The officer said that it was a firearms violation to carry the rifle off his property but since that is a misdemeanor they would have to have seen him to be able to charge him with that.
  2. I do see both sides of this. I am not so sure of the "no crime was committed." An assault is carried out by a threat of bodily harm coupled with an apparent, present ability to cause the harm. The threat does not have to be verbal. Having a rifle pointed at your steering wheel while being confronted seems to me to meet the definition of assault. Since it will come down to a he said, she said I doubt he will be charged.
  3. This happened to my neighbors wife last night. She was coming home a little before 9 pm. She was close to home and got a call from a friend. It was an important call so she decided to park her car so she could concentrate on the call. She turned into a neighborhood, went to the end of the street, turned around in the cul de sac, started heading back toward the main road and then parked on the street in front of a house. Most of Bellevue had a power outage last night that lasted for about an hour. This was during that time. She had been talking for about 10 mins when there is a knock on her window. It startles her and she turns to see a man cradling a rifle in his arms. He is turned sideways so it is pointing into the car but not right at her. She rolls down her window a little and says what the hell are you doing with a rifle pointing at me. He says we protect our neighborhood around here. She was like I am just sitting here talking on the phone. The interior light was on so he could that it was a woman by herself on the phone. She say get a way from me and go home. She was not even parked in front of this guys house. He lived at the next house down the street. I understand keeping a watch on your neighborhood. It is not a great idea to walk down the middle of the street with a rifle and knock on someones car window. She pulls down the street and calls the police. She explains everything that happens and says she wants him arrested for ag assault. They talk it over and call their watch commander. He says not to arrest the guy. Just talk to him and get his info and that they will turn it over to a detective. The officers told her to follow up with the detective and stress to him that she wants him prosecuted. Whether that will happen or not nobody knows. They told her to leave before they went to talk to the guy. When she was leaving two of the officers had their pistols drawn and the third was carrying an AR to go talk to the guy. I am interested in hearing what the detective has to say in a couple of days.

  5. You could argue it that way. You could also argue that a "pull of the trigger" is the complete motion from when you start pulling the trigger until the trigger is ready to be pulled again.
  6. I don't see the ATF letting this one last long. You are firing more than one shot with each pull of the trigger. I always thought that was a big no no. If they end up letting this one be legal, it looks like it will be a lot fun.
  7. If you make any more, put me down for one.
  8. When I have shipped long guns in a hard case I just wrapped them in cardboard. I cut open two boxes and wrapped them around the case and taped it up real good. The post office didn't have any problem with it like that.
  9. Did y'all see the video of the guy shooting himself in the cheek? Why would you do that to your self. What a dumba$$. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/graphic-video-indiana-man-shoots-face-fun-article-1.2725625
  10. Not with the humidity right now...
  11. Don't know anything about Yanahli but have heard good things about Laurel Hill, if you are in shape. There are some good deer in Laurel Hill but you have have to get away from the roads. That means a lot of hiking and a lot of dragging if you get a deer.
  12. Weston is right up there on par with LEM. Both are great machines.
  13. If you are not grinding bones(like for dog food), these inexpensive grinders are great at grinding up a couple of deer a year.
  14. One thing to watch for in the newer inexpensive meat grinders are plastic gears. They will not hold up to grinding bones and will wear out. The LEM brand has some nice grinders that a lot of people use to make dog food. Most of the reviews will tell you to go with the metal geared versions.
  15. That is a pretty nice package for the money. If you are just getting into muzzleloading it has everything you need. The one thing to check is to make sure you have easy access to the breech for cleaning. I had one muzzleloader that I had to take the stock off to clean the barrel. Most now a days are not like that but is something to check.
  16. Legion really likes to reach out and touch someone.
  17. Looking forward to some pics from the event.
  18. Naw, I don't like 10mm either... Thats my Glock 40, Glock 20 and Guncrafters No Name Melonite. Now I just need a Glock 29 to round out the collection.
  19. Today is the last day to enter for WMA big game quota hunts. I applied for the Elk drawing and for the President Island wma hunts. Very few tags for those hunts but some of the biggest deer in Tn comes out of those quota hunts every year. On game cameras there is an art to placing them. The first time I placed one there was a fallen tree about 5 yards in front of the camera along a deer trail. I must have gotten 400 pics of squirrels running back and forth across that tree. I really try to place them now so I will get limited pics of squirrels.
