Does anyone own or have any experience with the Para Expert Carry .45 Pistol? What are your opinions of Para Ordnance pistols in general? Any information is appreciated.

You would be surprised how many car dash boards and radios have been shot out by officers messing with their firearm in the vehicle.

Definitely a great place to go see. Went out there about 15 years ago for 2 weeks. Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Cody, Wyoming with the great museums of the west and firearms and the Chief Joseph Parkway (some of the most beautiful rock formations in the world). Go if you can.

As a grown man I always carry my driver's license when I go out. It stays in my wallet. But that's just me.

Titans. The Raiders of the East.

The only deal I ever got at JFloyds was on a case of 20 boxes of 9mm Federal ammo. That was during their "Grand Opening" sale when they moved across the driveway frome near Hammers to in the gas station building. Haven't seen a decent price there since.

I can't tell you any spots but several friends that are dedicated fishermen have been wearing crappie out on both sides of Chickamauga Lake. You need to get out there.

Have a unique first and last name like I do. Mine is usually approved before the dealer can get his hands off the keyboard.

My wife and I are senior citizens. My wife will only shoot a revolver (and is pretty good with one). She was one of the best shooters in her HCP class. She carries a 649 she got about a year ago. However, she is really having to work at hitting reliably with this small revolver. I just had an action job done on the 649. She is just not used to the weight of this steel revolver. The "light" weight frames were out of the question when we were looking for a revolver for her. She is so used to the size and weight of a K-frame revolver. She is determined to make the 649 work. Her home defense revolvers are all K-frames.

Routing for Broncos. But Broncos defense will be their achilles heel. Champ Bailey is too old and can't defend a manniquin. Seahawks will win.

I am mainly a revolver shooter but am intrigued by the .357 Sig cartridge. I have heard that this round functions well in semi-autos and has good stopping power. What do you think of this round and what is the best pistol to shoot this cartridge in?
-
There is a reason I only fired one round through this gun. I did not care for it. I am mainly a shotgun/revolver person and have had very little experience with Colt semi-automatics. I got it as repayment for some money I loaned a gun dealer friend. I don't want to give my nephew something that will only be a problem.
-
Well put homeagain. I agree.
-
I am not looking to sell it. I was thinking of giving it to my nephew as a Christmas present. Just wondering what I was "giving" him. He has always wanted a 10mm. I know it is a "Colt" but is it a quality firearm as far as shooting and holding up?

Need Some S&W Revolver Work
Superposed replied to Superposed's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Thanks for the response. I will take him three "smiths" when I am in Knoxville next month. Many years ago Hamilton Bowen put a Clark trigger on my MKII. It made it a fun gun to shoot. I just don't need his package price work. But he is a truly great gunsmith/inovater. I will probably break down and have him build me a custom GP100 or Redhawk .45 Long Colt. -
I have a Colt 10mm Delta Elite Stainless. The handgun is at least 15 years old. It is great shape and fired very little (I have only shot 1 round through it since I owned it). Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on what this handgun is worth? Any information is appreciated.

Need Some S&W Revolver Work

I have seen Mr. Howard at Predator recommended to other posters. -
I can't remember a year when Florida and Tennessee were so pathetic in the same year as this year. And Georgia lost their best receiver before the season and I believe both of Georgia's best running backs were hurt/out for the season in the Vanderbilt game. I am glad Vanderbilt has been doing some winning. Vanderbilt fans need to enjoy these seasons. But look at the 2014 recruiting class rankings. Nine teams in the SEC ahead of Vanderbilt (UT at #2). And who knows what is going to happen with the rape case. Looks like some of the defense attorneys may be willing to play dirty with Vanderbilt. This could cause James Franklin to find another job more quickly.

Need Some S&W Revolver Work

I thought about Hamilton Bowen but he is pretty proud of his good work. I am surprised that there are not any good revolver smiths in East or Middle Tennessee besides Mr. Bowen. -
Need Some S&W Revolver Work
Superposed replied to Superposed's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I wish I knew how everything got locked up. The gun has been sitting in my gunsafe for a good 25 years. I took it out about six months ago, cocked the hammer and then eased it back down. Everything was fine up to that point. I tried to cock the hammer again and the gun locked up. Hasn't worked since. -
I have two Smith & Wesson revolvers that need action tuneups. Also have a Model 27 that has locked up. Who would you recommend to do this work in Middle or East Tennessee? I live in Chattanooga but am willing to drive a distance to get quality work done. I am in Nashville and Knoxville quite a bit. Any help is appreciated.

Congratulations to Vanderbilt (both parents went there) and they have a very fine coach. Grew up in Nashville and over the last 60+ years watched their pathetic program. Vanderbilt football has gotten much better. But lets be realistic. Vanderbilt has gotten big brakes on scheduling versus teams being at their low points in their programs. In 2012 Vanderbilt beat five SEC teams (UT, Auburn, Kentucky, Missouri with James Franklin hurt, and a rebuilding Ole Miss team). The combined SEC records of these five teams was 6 wins and 34 losses. The only team they beat with a winning record was the University of Mississippi (with a 7 and 6 record). This year they have won 4 SEC games. Three of the teams have a losing record. Georgia is the only team that they beat with a winning record this year. They had better enjoy their last two wins over UT. Unless their recruiting improves dramatically UT will be back beating them again next year.

Montlake Classic Clays closing? (Chattaooga area)
Superposed replied to Randall53's topic in General Chat
Bought a year's membership the first week of January at Montlake. Craig and Dawn are fine people. As said above have Sporting Clays, 5-Stand, Trap and Skeet. No pistol or rifle ranges. I believe Carl Poston had pistol and rifle ranges but they became too much of a pain to operate. Benton has a nice Sporting course but the stations are very crowded (you will be shooting on one station and a clay will come over from another station). Benton does have a great 5-Stand set-up. Elevated shooting area that is covered with benches and has overhead fans for the summer. No trap or skeet at Benton. I hope Montlake stays open as they are a big supporter of the Soddy Daisy High School skeet program. -
So you all are saying you don't care if you put firearms in criminals hands? "IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM". You all don't mind facilitating criminals and others who can't get weapons throught legal means? Just sell them to the first person that comes along with money in hand because you want the next latest and the greatest firearm "NOW". Adopt an attitude of its not me selling to the first person that comes along that is the part of the problem (even if the person buying the gun is a felon, druggy, has mental problems, etc.). These are attitudes that have contributed to this fiasco of possibly having ridiculous gun laws/gun banning/registration, etc. forced upon lawful gun owners. As we all know, criminals will get firearms from different sources. The law abiding legitimate gun owner needs to insure that they are not one source of supply to criminals and others that should not legally have firearms. BUT THEN AGAIN, "IT'S NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY".

Are the names Jesse Mathews and Chattanooga Police Sergent Tim Chapin familiar to you gregintenn? Mathews, an escaped felon from a halfway house, traded three stolen pistols for a rifle at a Chattanooga gun show (off paper). Mathews had this rifle with him when he killed Tim Chapin in a robbery attempt. There are currently two different trials that are going on or just ended trying multiple individuals for selling large numbers off paper/no license (we are talking 100's of firearms) in Southeast Tennessee. A lot of these sales and contacts for sales were made at gun shows. I am sure all of these firearms went to law abiding citizens and no criminals. Right!! The car trunk gun unlicensed gun dealer is live and well at gun shows. It needs to be stopped.
