Oh my. another example of the 'Religion of Peace'. Of course, that depends on how you define 'peace'. You might remember that Karl Marx defined 'peace' as "the absence of opposition to socialism". It seems to me that Muslims define peace as the absence of opposition to Islam. To tolerate this type of judicial behaviour is to ignore all of our laws and Constitution in favor of a foreign religion.

Foreign economic aid for 2009 was $44.9 billion. Foreign military aid was $11 billion. Together, it was a total of $55.9 billion. Or, about five days worth of entitlement spending. I agree it should be cut, but it will not be anywhere near enough to help us. In 2009, the total cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan was a bit under $200 billion. Or the equivelent of about 18 days of entitlement spending. If we cut ALL of the above, we are still only at about 23 days of entitlement spending, or about 6%. That's nice, but it's still nowhere near enough. The facts are simple. Our government cannot generate the revenue to pay for these entitlement programs. Even without ANY other expenses of government (military, courts, executive branch, etc), we cannot pay for these programs. Until we face that reality and eliminate them, we are screwed.

Buy blanks and practice grenades. Lots of fun. With regular blanks, the grenades only go 20-80 yards depeneding upon which grenades you use. With real grenade-launching blanks, you will easily get 100-200 yards. But, the grenade-launching blanks are pretty expensive when you can find them. BTW, practice grenades are inert and do not go 'bang'. You can use them over and over. A lot of folks paint them Blaze Orange or Safety Yellow so that they can be easily found as they are not cheap. The normal flash hider on most semi-auto rifles also functions as a grenade launcher. This is NOT true of the M1A, L1A1, or Mini-14 flash-hiders. Also, some aftermarket flash-hiders are deliberately over-size to prevent this. The inside diameter of rifle grenade tails is 22mm.

Just as an FYI, if a person could count two numbers each second, it would take 15,854 YEARS going non-stop 24 hours a day to reach one trillion. It would take 15.854 years just to reach the first billion. Each trillion in spending means that every single person living in this country needs to fork over $3194.89 to pay for it. For our current FY 2012 spending of 6.28Trillion, that equals $20,063.91 per person. If we discount those who don't work, it means that for every single person that works in this country (about 139.3 million), they need to pay the Feds (just the Feds, not state and local gov'ts) $45,082.55. The US Average income was only $41,673.83 in 2010, so obviously, even if we tax 100% of incomes we still can't pay for our current spending. That's why the 'Tax the Rich' program is simply ludicrous. There aren't enough rich folks and they don't make enough money to pay for our spending. As for why we keep sending the same bunch of crooks back to Washington? That's very simple. Guess what we spend most of that $6.28Trillion ON? About $3.7Trillion is payment to individual Americans. Not wages or payment for services, but simple wealth transfer in the form of entitlements; welfare, food stamps, medicare, medicaid, social security, etc. Guess how many of those people will vote for whoever will keep the money flowing? Until we cut off those payments, we will never solve this problem.

I can tell you this; I have written instructions to my wife and friends to sue the pants off of any organization that prevents me from defending myself while on their property! After all, while I completely agree with their right to contrl events on their property, if they forbid me from defending myself, then THEY have taken on that obligation! Failure to protect me while on their property will be met with a suit for damages.

That puts the PF above 180. I know that I see about 1400fps with IMI 124gr through an 8" barrel on my Sterling. PF above 170. BTW, NATO spec 9mm ammo is a 124gr bullet at 1200fps from a 5" barrel. PF of almost 150.

Let's not confuse issues here. 1) If your legally-owned MAC10/45 is the closest weapon to hand when a bunch of home-invaders burst down your door, hose them down and worry about legality later. Protecting yourself and your family comes first. 2) Understand that ANY attempt to protect yourself is liable to turn into a media circus. Whether you fight them off with a butter knife, or an Uzi, it can still get ugly. 3) Doing everything exactly right just means that you and your family stay alive. You may still have a legal nightmare to go through. 4) Have a lawyer's number to call IMMEDIATELY after any such event. Keep in mind that prosecutors will seize upon anything they can find to accuse you with. Most jurisdictions want citizens to use the minimum level of force necessary to stop violence. You will need to be able to justify your actions. If you had an industrial-sized can of bear-spray in your hand when the door came down, you will need to explain why you didn't use that first rather than dropping it to pick up the MAC. Remember that ANYTHING you say to the police can be used against you. That's why you need to call a lawyer ASAP! I'm not a lawyer. The above is what I have garnered from many years of studying self-defense stories.

On the CZ-75 type pistols, the slide is the same width across the models. Since the slide rides inside the frame rails, the frame is wider than the slide. The alloy frame is wider than a steel frame since it takes more aluminum to equal the strength of the steel. FWIW, I have never had a problem with the weight of my CZ-75 Compact. If the steel compact models are out of production, it's a sad day.

Hard to find and expensive as miltary issue ammo. Our government does not believe that it is appropriate for anyone but military to have tracers, sdo it cannot be imported any more. The 7.62x39 tracer bullet is .311 and 124gr. Using a .308 US 148gr tracer bullet will not yield the same trajectory or accuracy as normal 7.62x39 ammo. You will probably need to reduce the powder load significantly to accomodate the 20% heavier bullet.

A reliable, but wet, way to remove Berdan primers is to fill the case with water, use a wooden dowel that fits snigly into the case mouth, and rap it sharply with a stick. The primers usually pop right out. New Berdan primers go in just like a normal Boxer primer. FYI, Hiram Berdan was an American, and Edward Boxer was British. Strange, how we ended up using Boxers and the Brits use Berdans as standard primers.

Look on eBay or GunBroker to get an idea of what they are selling for. Some times, rare reloading dies can bring some decent money.

In 1976 I bought a '67 Austin-Healey Sprite. It had been hit on the left front corner and needed the wheel and suspension replaced before I could even drive it. I learned the joys of tuning an SU carb, frequent master cylinder rebuilds, and the excitement of a genuine Lucas electric system! Yes, I did all of my own work. The first time it rained I learned that the convertible top only kept 75% of the rain out. The JC Whitney catalog was my frequent companion. The trunk stayed full of tools and spare parts. My next car was a new '79 Toyota Corolla.

Don't put your money into something you are not intimately familiar with. If you are looking into a side-line business, then do something you know how to do, and can do well. The best investments are investments in your own skills and abilities. You might look into investing the money on learning a new skill or improving you existing skills. I have probably spent well over $20,000 of my own money on training and schools over the past thirty years. And that doesn't include all the free classes and seminars I have attended. Manufacturer and vendor seminars can be incredibly useful.

All government entitlements will eventually be by card. It costs just a few cents to transfer each card payment versus several dollars or more for each check or voucher transfer. FWIW, I'm against ALL government transfer payments. No matter how you slice it, it's robbing Peter to pay Paul and vote-buying. For every truly hard-working person receiving taxpayer money, there are at least four people just gaming the system to enable an indolent lifestyle and poor decision-making. We are paying people to do stupid things like; not work, have children they cannot afford, and believe they have a 'right' to other people's money. The problem with this is that eventually, you run out of other people's money. We are already headed down that steep path. Almost two-thirds of our budget is transfer payments for entitlements. And almost two-thirds of our federal money comes from borrowing. That's like a family that earns $20,000 each year, but spends $60,000 per year by running up credit cards and loans. One day, it will come to a crashing halt. We are seeing that in Greece, Portugal, Spain, and other countries. And we are borrowing more money to help THEM get out of their debt problems. Who will help US? It's a tall house of cards held up only by wishful-thinking.

On many SKS', corrosive ammo has been used. Check the gas system to make sure it isn't corroded. Some are chromed, and are less likely to have corrosion. But Yugo's are notorious for having corroded gas pistons. Don't mistake filthy dirty for corroded. I can't tell you how many SKS' I've seen that appear to have never been cleaned, but are working fine.

It's been out of print for some time. The last I herd from Dan Shea was that it would be possibly some time this year that a new edition would be out.

I have a Victor, my wife has a DuraMatic. They are far and away the best bargains available in a .22 pistol! They are both capable of much better shooting than I've ever been able to do. Aside from cleaning, all I've ever had to do is change the recoil springs about every 10K rounds.

Our Founding Fathers were not believers in Democracy. To them, it was a dirty word. There was a reason why they restricted the vote to only free male property owners over 21 years old. They believed that those who were settled and had something to lose would be the ones most interested in adhering to the principle of liberty and upholding the Constitution. Personally, I can't see any reason not to restrict the vote to only those over 21, and requiring a one-time $500 performance bond in order to vote. The bond would be lost in the event you voted illegally. That would stop a LOT of the fraudulent voting!

Considering that probably ten times as many gun owners know about this 'boycott' than anti-gun liberals do, I fully expect Starbucks revenues to spike on 2/14. These turkeys are probably looking at the website visit numbers and rubbing their hands thinking about all the huge numbers of people that will be boycotting Starbucks. I doubt that they realize that 75% of the visits are from pro-gun folks. There are a lot more of us than than there are of them!

Sarco has been around a LONG time. They have stuff even they don't remember what it is. Be careful, though. They tend to be a little bit optimistic in their descriptions of condition. 'Excellent' may mean it doesn't have any major dents or scrapes. 'New' means that nobody has used it. But it may have been in their warehouse for sixty years in a big box with a couple of hundred other items. Still, when you order something, they WILL send it to you, and their customer service has gotten much better.
