Go to a good bike shop and try on helmets. You need to get the head shape and size right to be worthwhile. Also, I ride with a modular helmet. It's all the protection of a full-face helmet, but the chin bar flips up to allow you to talk, drink and eat without taking off the helmet. It also makes it easier to put it on. Also, in hot weather, being able to flip it up at a stoplight and get more breeze is a very good thing. FYI, the Cycle Gear in Madison has a pretty good selection.

I had one of the pistols when I was a kid. Accuracy was 'minute of kid' at 5 feet. Worthless beyond that. Bullets got lost within a day, and there wasn't a store anywhere that had extras.

Parts gun built on a pre-1913 Luger. You can tell it's early because there is no stock attaching lug on the back of the grip. What are the markings on the top of the chamber? How is the bore? Probably no value to a real collector, but any complete Luger in decent shape is worth at least $1000. Go shoot it and have fun!

I'm still a believer in making bigger holes. Pistol ammo incapacitates by either hitting a major nerve bundle or letting lots of blood out. A larger diameter bullet has a greater chance of achieving one of those goals. Of course, I also still believe Jeff Cooper's maxim that the purpose of a pistol is to let you fight your way to a rifle or shotgun.
