I remember my Davis having a trigger like a mule. The Bond Arms has to be rolled in a down and back motion. I use snap caps to practice with it. The American Derringer trigger is straight back and since its double action only, there's no hammer to fumble with.
-
I must have been lucky also. My Bond Arms and American Derringer both shoot POA on the bottom barrel and a bit low on the top. As far as choosing between five shots of 22 or two rounds of 32, why trouble yourself? They are small enough you can carry both. Lol

I had the Davis .32 when I was a pizza delivery driver in Florida back in the late 80's. It was the perfect size to fit in the carry sleeve of the pizza bags. We had several drivers robbed at gunpoint and one was beaten pretty bad. So even though carrying was not condoned by the owner, he did little to discourage it.

I would argue they still serve a purpose. If they didn't there wouldn't be so many companies making them. And I am not familiar with any airwieght or subcompact auto that can deliver 410 000buck in a more concealable package than the Bond Arms and American Derringers. I can conceal my NAA or my American Derringer in the watch pocket of a pair of jeans. My two primary carry weapons are a colt new agent .45 or my kimber solo 9mm. If I need something smaller I have a Micro desert eagle .380. But I still carry a back up and the NAA's and quality made derringers fit that nitch perfectly. I can carry the 1911 iwb, Bond Arms loaded with 410 iwb on my weak side, NAA .22mag in the watch pocket, another NAA .22lr in a belt buckle, and the DA38 in a wallet holster and conceal it all with an untucked T-shirt. And that's the purpose they serve. They make it so you can carry a gun no matter what your form of dress may be. And the gun you can carry anywhere beats the gun sitting in your safe.

Congratulations man. I just got mine a few weeks ago. I already had a Ruger SR10/22 that's in an ad style so I liked the plateform but since I already had the Ruger and an AK47, I didn't see the point in another tactical rifle. I'm glad I changed my mind. The AR15 is a sweet little rifle and will hopefully be one of the firearms I pass down to my son.

I'm a big fan of the Hi Standard. Great back up gun. As I said before, the Hi Standard was what started my search for the American Derringer DA38. Just wish I could have found the DA in 357 mag. That'd have been a sweet BUG.

Bonds are a great gun. And let's face it, a double barrel shotgun in your pocket isn't a bad thing. Lol

Looks like an old .41 rim fire.

The three barrel is cool. I had a Davis .32 years ago that I carried when delivering pizza. I also had a cobra (I believe they bought out Davis) in .38 that I sold to a friend. Both are not what I'd call high quality but they always went bang and I could trust them when needed. I need to find a bond arms frame to mount my .45 cap barrel on as I'm tired of swapping it onto the snake slayer. I'm lazy like that. Lol

Amen brother. Spent many fun filled days at the range with my 8yo boy shooting his converted .22 bull pup we built last summer. He has learned a healthy respect for firearms and is a responsible gun owner.

Wow, 166 views and only 7 of us pack a derringer. I feel in the minority now. Lol

Can we expect anything less from these folks? Congress exempts themselves from obamacare and from the Feinstein assault weapons ban. Is it any surprise Mark would support the ban while also trying to secure an AR15 for himself. He's a douchebag and should be ashamed that he uses his wife's tragedy to deny law abiding citizens their rights.
-
I emailed them about this story and asked why I should support their cause when the founder shows this kind of hypocrisy. Anyone wanna bet if they reply back to me?

I bought three 100 round boxes from wally world in Dickson the other morning for about $0.07 a round.

Mark Kelly, husband of congresswoman Gabby Gifford and assault weapons ban spokesman caught buying an ar15 and several 30 round mags. Read the story to see what a true hypocrite he is. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/03/09/Gabby-Giffords-Husband-Buys-AR-15-Announces-He-s-Not-Keeping-It-After-News-Leaks-Out

Isn't it funny how that changes with age. Shooting a friends Hi Standard .22 was the catalyst that's started my search for the American Derringer DA38. I understand your regret in selling it.
-
It's hard to find a reason why you can't conceal an NAA. I've even carried my .22lr with the 1 1/8 barrel in the watch pocket of my jeans.
-
Had a friend give me similar advise about buying an ar15. I came across a deal on the rifle (pre crazy price) and in the three weeks since purchasing it, I've managed to acquire 1700 rounds of 223 to go with it. Ammo is out there, you just have to look hard.

I don't know about the BM or BKM but I owned a star m40 for several years and it was a very reliable carry gun. Never had an issue with it at all.
-
Bonds are built like a tank. I've got the driving holster for my snake slayer and wear it on road trips in the car and on my motorcycle.
-
I've got the NAA in .22 mag with the extra .22lr cylinder and 1 5/8 barrel. I also have the NAA .22lr in 1 1/8 barrel with stag grips and belt buckle holster. I would definitely consider them derringers. You dream Derringer (American Derringer DA38) has been a primary back up for me since getting it last summer. Its a great shooter.

Thinking of buying a 1911, where to rent one and shoot?(near Nashville)
Mykltn replied to espacef1fan's topic in Handguns
Your wife has good taste in the Springfield GI. I've had mine for years and love it. Guns And Leather is a good place to rent although I'm not sure they have 1911's on the wall though. Best to call ahead to make sure. -
I am a true fan of Derringers. I own a Bond Arms 45/410 and an American Derringer Double Action .38 SPL. Both are carried often as BUGs. The Bond even has an interchangeable. 45acp barrel so it can back up for my 1911. This post is to see who else owns and carries derringers and why. Post photos if you like. Thanks.
