No lint or unburnt powder. You cannot force it out without depressing the release button. It doesn't come loose on .22lr, only when shooting .22.mags. I also checked the fit of my friends cyclinder pin in his gun and it fits a lot tighter than mine.

My Mini broke my heart today at the range. Took it down to Gun City for a test run. Don't care much for their range as you have to use their targets and you cannot put the targets anywhere but at the far end of the range. It is only about a 50 foot range at that. Anyway, started with the .22lr's and after locating my point of aim, I was able to get center mass hits from 50 feet. Gun functioned perfectly until I started shooting the .22 Mags. About the 3rd shot and the cylinder pin crept forward locking up the action. I thought maybe I have just neglected to seat it properly and tried again. Two shots later and the pin had unlocked and crept forward again. I went thought 50 rounds and had to re seat the pin about every 2nd or third shot. Back to the .22lr and no problem what so ever. Called NAA and spoke with a nice young lady there who said it was probably just a bad pin and offered to exchange it for me. I will be putting it in the mail tomorrow and will hopefully get a new one by next week end. Other than the pin problem, I found the gun to be a very good shooter. And far more accurate that most give it credit.

Thanks all for the info. Hopefully will get it to the range this week to see how it shoots.

Just purchased an NAA .22 Mag mini revolver today with the extra .22lr cylinder. It is the 1 5/8 inch barrel. A buddy has one and I got a chance to shoot his a few years ago and have been Jonesin' for one ever since. Questions are for those that have them, what is your prefered ammo for self defence and why? Also has anyone had any issues with them? It is my understanding that they are a reliable pistol but I like to hear it from the horses mouth so to speak. Thanks in advance for any info.

Personally I enjoy my .40 cal. I have three .45 acp's and had a 9mm. I sold the 9mm because I didn't care for the pistol. (It was a Taurus PT111). I like the compactness of my .40 and feel better with the slightly larger than 9mm round. Just my 2 pennies.

OK, for all who are interested. Here is the second range report for the Para Warthog I purchased a few months ago. Been busy and on vacation so have not been able to take the new toy to the range for the break-in lately. Finally made it today and ran through another 100 rounds of ammo. Only incurred about a quarter of the problems today as I did the first day. Most of the problems were failure to feed the first round from the magazine. Not sure if it was oiled properly or just breaking in. Shot placement has improved greatly. Most shots where in the 9 ring although slightly low and to the left. Believe this is due to having too tight a grip on the handle. It is a small gun so over gripping would seem to be likely. All in all, it is coming along fine. Hopefully the next hundred rounds will be all that is needed to make this little pocket rocket a reliable daily carry. Stay tuned for part three.

In the words of Master Sgt. Hartman. "You're so ugly you could be a modern art masterpeace!"

You're a good man Hipower, adopting a lonely Springer like that. Makes me proud to know you.

I have not had any issues at all with my P238. It has been a great ccw and is a very accurate and reliable shooter. I did have an issue with a Colt Mustang Mag I purchased for it. The bulge at the top of the mag on the mustang is higher than the P238 mag and causes the last spent round to not eject leaving it in the chamber. Not the guns fault, just this particular mag.

Winchester 240 ball. My springfield had similar issues during it's break in, just not as many. It now shoots anything I feed it same as my RIA.

I own two motorcycles. A Honda and a custom built chopper. The Honda starts every time I hit the button without fail for the last 36,000 miles. It has been a very reliable motorcycle since the day I drove it off the show room floor. The Chopper on the other hand gave me nothing but trouble for the first two years after it was build. I replaced starters, batteries, forward controls and a whole host of other parts trying to get to the point where I could trust it to bring me home. This is year three for the Chopper and she has been running perfect. Had I dumped it because it required time and patiance to make her reliable, I would not have the coolest Bobber in Nashville. I would be just another guy riding a Honda and what would be the fun in that. Properly broken in , the warthog will make a very reliable pistol.

Before I start, I would like to say that this is just the first part of the recommended break in period for the Warthog. It is advised that you first shoot 100 rounds then field strip the pistol and inspect of any abnormal wear and tear. This is to be done three time for a grand total of 300 rounds before putting the firearm into normal service. That being said. Here is the report. I decided Sunday would be the day to take our the new Para Warthog to the range and finally get her good and dirty. Along with it came my Sig P238 and the Star M40. (I always like to take at least one of my carry guns when I go to the range just to keep up my aim.) The first few mags through the Warthog where low and to the left. I thought this might be my grip or trigger pull as the gun is very small but has a wide grip for a 1911. After about 60 rounds I noticed the shots climbing back up to the center of the target. A moment of deep concentration and trigger control proved that the sights were dead on as the shot ripped almost perfectly through the cross hairs at the center of the target. The rest of the 100 round box of .45acp's were shot haphazardly at the target just to fulfill the requirements for step one of the break in process. After proving to myself that the gun was accurate, I just wanted to get on with putting her into service as soon as possible. Numerous ftf's occurred thought the 100 rounds. This may have been the ammo or just the feed ramp breaking in. Either way, it occurred both when a new mag was started and in the middle of a mag. I am holding judgment on the cause until the end of the breaking. All in all it was a very fun gun to shoot and when it feed right and held right, it was dead on accurate. Can't wait until the next 100 rounds to see how she handles.

How come everyone on you-tube shoots a revolver until it goes "CLICK"?
Mykltn replied to Will Carry's topic in Handguns
Because thats how they do it in the movies. No wait, movie revolvers hold like 20 rounds right? I need a movie revolver! In tired of having to count before I reload. I want 20 rounds in a six shot .44. Yeah! Someone sell me a movie gun! -
I personally would go with the Kahr CW45. I am not a fan of plastic guns,(nothing against them, just don't like the way they feel in my hand.) so of your choices for everyday carry gun, I would go for the one that shoots the biggest bullet. 9MM's are good, .40 S&W is better, but a .45ACP is what I would want when god forbid, the time comes to pull and use you CCW. I also really like the fit and finish of the Kahr. A buddy has one and it is very accurate as self defense distance and is small enough to carry in just about any mode of dress. My next choice would be the Glock just because its a .40. Good luck with whichever toy you decide on and have fun.

My Springfield GI has been a great gun. Shoots everything I feed it without any problems after the break in period.
-
Oooohhh!!! you should get a 1911!
-
My wife has already laid down the law. One must go before another comes home. My Para Warthog was only purchased after my PT111 was sold. She never said anything about them having to be of equal value. LOL.
-
Folks like you make me sick. Wish I had a Six Pack.
-
You must! It is important that you possess said full size weapon. Actually a full size 1911 is a great gun. I have a SA GI and it shoots great. Only have two ftf's when first purchased and has run great since. I also have a compact RIA that I love too.

Makes you wanna cry don't it?

I love my Sig. Very accurate for a pocket gun. Takes old Colt Mustang mags. All around great little gun. Get one.
-
Yes it is a Sig P238. Not technically a 1911 but close enough for my addiction to be quelled. I also have a Star M40 that looks kinda like a 1911 if you squint your eyes but didn't think if belonged in the photo.

Damn son, I like your attitude!

I loved that album. Got it new when I was 12.

I can't sleep with them? The hell you say! BTW, can I get a definition on what Kinky is? Never mind, it will just get me in trouble I think.
